It's been a good year for me, professionally--lots of exciting things have happened. In general, I feel grateful for what life has offered me: emotional and financial stability, good friends, the ability to set my own schedule and to pursue my passions.A little about me: I'm enthusiastic and opinionated, a culture junkie who enjoys new experiences. I play well with others. I like to roam around the planet for inspiration. I work for myself and do reasonably well.--I grew up here and I'll never get sick of it. I enjoy writing. My story collection came out last year, and recently I started freelancing for the WSJ.I can always use a few more cool people in my life, although the right one is what I'm really looking for. I think I'm ready for the next chapter. I'm open to all sorts of first dates, although they should involve a good deal of conversation so I can get to know a bit about my date. Well, following the outline: Hobbies - I'm currently heading back toward web development, but have done scuba diving, aviation, made things out of wood and metal - Okay, not artistic at all. Currently trying to learn to sing and not happy with my progress thus far (over 2 years). My goals are associated with hobbies and experiences rather than work - I'm one of those guys that works to enable the rest of life, not work to give life meaning. Which is not to say I don't appreciate those people and their motivation! How I am unique: Don't watch much TV or movies so out of step culturally, not to mention a complete disinterest in sports (except motor sports). In fact I love engines come to think of it. I just bought a ***VMAX (motorcycle). Would love to delve more into engines but money... I enjoy music, generally not country but that isn't hard and fast. I like music with compelling lyrics. One song that really piqued my interest was "the Pit" by The Silversun Pickups. Elements of those songs really resonate with me for one reason or another. I don't like movies or elaborate restraunt (sure I spelled that wrong) meals - more about the event than about getting to know each other. I think the best would be grabbing something to go and hitting a park bench or just sitting in the car and just eating and making conversation or enjoying a comfortable silence together.

I really hate filling these things out but I guess it is a necessary evil so here goes. I moved back to GA the summer of ***. I lived in the Caribbean for almost 4yrs, taught school and loved it. I have been in hospitality/property management for about 15yrs but now am back in school working on a degree in biotechnology. VERY proud to be from the south and I guess I am a redneck at heart, love fast cars, hotrods, 4wheelin, hunting and roughnecks . Having said that I am also a bit of a geek, I enjoy scifi, video games and am a fan of *** are actually too many sides to me to describe, lets just say I enjoy a lot of things and can fit in anywhere. I like constantly being "on the go" or just staying at home watching a movie. I love to get in the car and get lost. My idea of a great first date is summed up in a favorite movie quote: "It's kind of like going on a vacation - you plan everything out but one day you make a wrong turn or take a detour, and you end up in some crazy place you can never find on the map, doing something you never thought you'd do. Maybe you feel a little lost while it's happening. But, later, you realize it was the best part of the whole trip." Be spontaneaus!!!
