Pros and Cons of Dating a Married Man

Pros and Cons of Dating a Married Man

While a relationship with a married man may seem an exciting experience, it rarely has a happy ending. It may start as a breathtaking romance, but what is the outcome? Emotional damage, scandalous divorce and a devastated family. Will you be ready to take the responsibility for all these? And by the way, there is no guarantee that suchlike relationships will last long.

If you have just started dating a married man you may neglect all the drawbacks as you’re totally in love with him and feel as happy as you have never been before. But let’s be realistic about it: do the pros outweigh the cons?

Here are the top reasons why dating a married person is not a good idea:

You’re fooling yourself

He may convince you that you’re the one and only love of his life and name a number of reasons why you are better than his wife. He may be enjoying the great time you both are having together. But is this true? Why is he still with his spouse then? Trust only actions, not the words. Many married men like the peace and stability of a married life. Regardless of what they say, they’re not ready to abandon it. Why would they risk losing their house, money and spending time with their kids?

Relationships with a married person have no future

Men come to cheating because they feel unhappy in their marriages. Such strong emotions as disappointment and frustration may make them tell you words you desire to hear so much. But to tell “I love you” and to really mean it is not the same. Married men just want to keep their lovers by their side to compensate for their unhappy marriages. And that’s it.

Unfaithful husbands run in the sight of difficulties

What can the fact of cheating tell about a person’s character? He’s not ready to deal with troubles. The best decision for such a person is to neglect them or run away from them but never to face and solve them. So the reason why he still stays in relationships with you is that he feels comfortable. For now. But be ready he will disappear when any kind of troubles arouses.

Hiding is way too painful to endure

Dating a married man means no romantic cafes, no enjoyable time at the movies, no peaceful walks in the parks. You won’t spend holidays together and meet your families. He doesn’t want his colleagues or, what is worse, her friends to spot you having a wonderful time together. It may seem a thrilling adventure for some time, but later on, you will get tired of the stress it causes. Moreover, hiding may influence negatively your self-esteem and self-confidence.

It’s a win/fail situation

You need to think over and honestly answer one little question. Who has more benefits? A cheating husband gets all the advantages of a married life and a lover. But what about you? What kind of benefits do you get from this kind of relationships? If you have an argument or quarrel, he always has his loving wife’s arms to run straight into while you may have no other option available.

Time doesn’t stand still

Dating a married man may last for years and result in nothing. Ask yourself this vital question: Do you want to remain single again after a couple of years of pointless relationships? The better decision is to go separate ways right now and search for a more suitable partner. It may be a painful thing to do at the moment but in the long run, it will only be beneficial for you.

Damaged reputation

In many social circles, people look down on “the other woman”. It’s quite natural that your friends and family may support the choice you’ve made, but your acquaintances and other people will make negative comments about it. You may ignore what others think of you, but it’s never pleasant to be the main topic of gossip.

Despite the fact there are so many cons of dating a married man, still there are occasions when married people got divorced and wedded happily their lovers. If you’re not discouraged by the difficulties that suchlike relationships may bring, here is advice on how to meet a married man.
