I feel as if this part of the sign up process is where you would list all the things to write about to attract someone else, whether or not they actually make up your personality. I'll try something different, ( I appologize if im breaking dating site etiquete but bare with me). Movie date, where you hardly say anything to each other therefore defeating the actual purpose of getting to know each other. ( I'll concede they're awesome as a date later, just not off the get go) First dates are honestly just to tell if you're curious to know more or if the person is all wrong for you. My opinion go to a quiet out of the way sit down bar, some place with music to cover those awkward silences, but not so loud that you're shouting at one another. (so much more awkward than a movie, feeling obligated to speak but having to shout) :P Have a drink, calm those nerves which everyone seems to have on these first timers. Worst case scenario you have a nice brewski and a conversation with someone new, with no outside or setting pressures that would make the whole experience more complicated than it needs to be.
