5 Rules for Casual Dating

Casual dating is one of the easiest ways to hang out with people without the obligations or commitments of a relationship. Not to be confused with casual sex, casual dating is dating freely, experiencing new things with new friends with zero expectations.

Of course, casual dating is not for everyone. A lot of people don’t consider casual dating as something new they want to try in their dating life. However, this way of dating has its own benefits. So if you want to succeed in this field, here are some easy rules to follow.

Keep it simple

If you are worrying all the time, checking your phone every five minutes or trying to hang out with a specific person more than 3 times a week, you may need to make sure if casual dating is for you. Relax, keep it simple and just enjoy the time you spend with your date.

Set your boundaries

Such behavior ensures that each party fully understands what each player wants. Be honest with your date and yourself. If it is casual dating both of you need to know never to expect a committed relationship at any point of time. It’s better to clarify in the beginning so that no one is hurt in the end.

Don’t expect too much

The foremost rule of all relationships is to learn to stop expecting and when it comes to casual relationships this one’s in all capitals. There is no scope of expectations since you have mutually agreed to have fun in the relationship. The emotional involvement is risky, sometimes you end up feeling guilty for all that you have done.

Don’t limit yourself

Firstly, don’t date just one person at a time, causal dating means that you are not exclusive so mix it up. Secondly, try out new types of dates. If you normally date one stereotypical person, experiment and see if another type works better.

Avoid stress

Always remember the whole point of casual dating is keeping it simple and stress-free. So if you met someone or numbers were exchanged don’t try too hard. If there is no response to messages or invitations the other person might not be interested. Accept it and move on.

As you can see, casual dating isn’t for everyone, but that is something you need to evaluate for yourself. At least you can try and we hope that these tips will be useful for you.

  • first of all you don’t have to expect and experience any commitment. so, don’t even think about it and you’ll avoid it. but if I were that guy who felt really attracted to the casual date, I’d be honest and tell it openly

  • that’s all the points I try to tell myself before any date. but the advantage of the casual dates is that you don’t have to call back if anythings doesn’t suit you 🙂

  • lol, it seems that all my first dates were those casual ones 🙂 I mean I was taking them easy and didn’t expect too much. may be that was the key why I was in the least disappointed with them

  • it seems that all men I know take dates as casual. really they don;’t bother to make a good impression on the woman.

  • keep it simple? I love it. it means I don’t have to have a hairdo, smart dress and high heels. I love the idea of just hanging out with new people
