We can chat waiting in line beforehand to get to know eachother, then enjoy eachother's company during the event, laughing and marveling at the stories. If it's going well, let's go for a walk around the neighborhood. Let's just wander, without a real destination or path in mind, and see where we end up. The same with the conversation. If we've got more to talk about, we'll find a diner or casual restaurant nearby for lunch or an early dinner.
