I've noticed that when you work a lot and aren't super into the bar scene, it's a bit difficult meeting new people around the city. Something that is outside of your normal 'dinner and a movie' senario. Something like bowling, ice skating, go-kart racing, going to a concert, etc. Anything that would be outside of the box would be a fun way to get to know someone I think.
