Well to start off I like pretty much anything outdoors. I love to go camping, fishing, hunting, ride horse, ride 4-wheelers, and work out in the yard(if I had one at the moment I would be out working in it). I play softball and exercise when I am not at work(although my job provides a lot of exercise at sometimes). I am a type A personality person that was brought up the old fashion way and was taught to take care of my kid(s) and partner first before me. I am funny, outgoing, stubborn and hard headed at times(this happens more than I would like), and have a rebelish attitude. I do have tattoos and plan on getting at least one more(don't worry guys they can all be covered by clothing or shown if I want them to show). I do have a college education and plan on going back to finish one more degree in the future! I work as an EMT right now and will be stepping up to a Paramedic pending I pass my national certification test! I love my job and what I do for a living. I have worked very hard to get where I am at in this point in life and checking off goals as I go. I do have a teenage son who is my world so being good with kids and wanting to date someone with a kid is a must. I have been a single mom most of my son's life. I do work and I am not looking for someone to support us! I do not put up with lying, cheating, or drugs. If you don't believe ask my ex-husband. lol Oh and if you are looking for a girl that is a size 6 then I am not for you. I am not obese but I am not skinny either! I am looking for a friend and to see where it goes. The solid foundation to a great relationship is to be with your best friend! I am looking for someone who shares the same interest that I do, likes to go out on the town every now and then, pile up on the couch and watch a movie with the kids or by ourselves, and just sit back and enjoy life. I want to find someone who will accept me for who I am and not try to make me to be someone that they want. I can be tough to handle at times but I promise you it is worth the ride and wait! Hey I'm JohnI'm a little cheesy, and strive for a balance in my life and relationships. I hold a laissez faire approach to life and relationships; to that end I have no interest in games or drama. I'm a good guy; independent for the most part; but I'd like to have someone to curl up with; go on adventures with; and give me that warm fuzzy feeling when were together...I like to cook; spring/summer is coming and its all about BBQ wait till you try my bacon wrapped steak with garlic smashed potatoes and grilled corn on the cob; I do have non BBQ culinary talents too in high school I was a cook in a pasta restaurant and have a really good (but fating) Alfredo sauce...I like camping and hiking, I want to go to McNabbs this summer for a day trip; between the oil refinery noise and the history of the Island though I think I'll find somewhere else to camp :PI also bike to commute in the summer; walk almost everywhere in the winter...fall is coming/here last year things got in the way of most of my hiking and camping; this summer I hope to remedy that; I want to go for a day trip to McNabbs and a few other locations; and get some camping in too could use a camping buddy :) I collect records, mostly ***'s pop; rock and Jazz .; everything Beatles;.etc... The magic's in the music and the music's in me (bonus if you tell me the song).It's fun to find lost treasures in flea markets / yard sales... Of course, I wouldn't drag someone to all sorts of outings they wouldn't want to go on, this is just something I find fun...What am I looking for:- I tend to look at extroverts more but there have been a few introverts who have caught my eye- Who likes some the same things I do.- A sweet/kind person. I'm a good guy and I don't want someone who will take advantage of me and my giving nature...- Smart- Will goof around with meSo I guess that's a place to start! ..find it. I am a very honest person, and fairly articulate and expressive. People generally know exactly how I feel about them, and the people I care about know it. I believe that if you truly care about someone, every day should be special. A gift is not a gift is there are strings attached, and there is never a good reason to be cruel or mean to someone you care about. I tend to feel emotions strongly and am very passionate, but also very rational and reasonable when expressing those emotions. Some people are worth it. I have a very low tolerance for the selfish kinds of love. I find it hard to believe it's possible to really love someone if you aren't willing to put them first. I treat others the way they deserve to be treated. I like to appreciate people who are worth appreciating, simply because they deserve it. Job- To me work has been partly means to an end, and partly a quest to figure out what I truly want to be when I grow up. I find that the most fulfilling things you can do in life tend to be things that don't pay well, but make you feel at the end of the day that you've made a difference. Some things are just worth it. I don't date much, partly from being really busy, but also partly because I've been putting it off. I love my life the way it is, and the people in it. So much so that I am hesitant to change anything. But I also know what there is room for someone new if I actually put effort into finding someone special. It's hard to say exactly what I'm looking for in someone, but I think I will know what I'm looking for what I find it. To me, it's easier to know someone first, then learn to appreciate everything about them, rather than make a list of desirable traits and try to fit someone into that list.If I had time, I would list sailing, surfing, hiking, rock climbing, going to the beach, and many other fun and exciting things as my "interests". Unfortunately I haven't made time for any of those things lately. Maybe I just need a catalyst. I don't like first dates. They seem way to much like job interviews, and who likes a job interview? Casual and fun seems to be the way to go.
