It turns out, love isn’t blind. A new survey by Meetville (dating app to find the right person) proves that physical appearance plays an important role in establishing and maintaining a good relationship.
The poll was held from 2/5/14 to 8/5/14. Participants were asked the following question: “Are looks important in a relationship?”, and the results of their responses were: Yes – 63% and No – 37%.
Total number of respondents was 162,968. From the USA – 76%, from Canada – 2%, from Britain – 6%, Australia – 4% and other countries – 12%.
Michael LaBossiere, a modern author of philosophy and gaming material, comments: “Yes, we all know that looks generally matter. And when it comes to relationships, two common questions are: 1) what works in starting one? and 2) what works in maintaining one? Not surprisingly, beauty is involved in the answers to both questions”, thinks Bakker.
It is thought-provoking that according to statistics women are less affected by appearance, among those who voted “No”: male – 39%, female – 61%.
Alex Cusper, Meetville service analyst, assumes that as men tend to be more concerned about physical appearance than women, it means that a man is more likely to leave a less attractive woman than a woman to leave a less attractive man.
Meetville, a leading mobile dating service, regularly conducts research among its users. Millions of people from the U.S., Canada, Britain and Australia answer hundreds of questions every month.
