How Many People Would Share Naked Selfies
Selfie has already become a part of modern day ritual. Meetville.com (dating app to find the right person) revealed the fact in the course of a poll, conducted from 7/18/14 to 9/17/14.
When asked: “Have you ever sent a naked picture of yourself to someone?” 45% denied doing it, however, the majority of 55% confessed the “crimes”.
Dalia Ben-Galim, Associate Director of Institute for Public Policy Research, believes “The situation today paints a worrying picture about the way online pornography is shaping the attitudes and behaviour of young people. It is also clear that young people believe the sex education they currently get in school hasn’t kept pace with the realities of their digital and social media lifestyles.”
Out of 58,572 respondents the majority were from the USA - 50%, from Canada - only 5%, from Britain - 11%, from Australia - 8% and other countries - 26%.
Alex Cusper, Meetville service analyst, notices "sending nude selfies is increasingly common behavior today. Celebrities, whose naked pictures leek into the internet contribute to the rise of the trend among young people worldwide."
Meetville, a leading mobile dating service, regularly conducts research among its users. Millions of people from the U.S., Canada, Britain and Australia answer hundreds of questions every month.
