How Many Americans Value Homeland over Their Life

In the era of globalization American patriotism stays true. This was made clear in a poll, conducted by Meetville.com (dating app to find the right person) from 8/25/14 to 9/4/14.

9,940 participants answered the following question: “Would you sacrifice your life for your Motherland?” The 67% majority who were willing to dye for their motherland was overwhelmingly represented by Americans (56%). 6% of participants were Canadians, 13% - British, 7% - Australians and 18% came from other countries.

Michelle Kuo, a writer and a lawyer, concludes: “American patriotism is a special kind of love of country that happens to be linked to the love of our best selves. It may seem the Americans of the 21st century aren’t particularly invested in the triumphalist narrative. But even if millennials may be less devoted to the symbols of America, they are no less devoted to democratic ideals.”

Among those who would give up their life for the Motherland, the distribution of votes was as follows: male - 80%, female - 20%.

Alex Cusper, Meetville service analyst, is not surprised male votes prevailed. “Although more than 200,000 women are in the active-duty military in the U.S, they are still greatly outnumbered by men. It certainly doesn't mean their love of the country is somehow less significant,” he says.
