Do People Consider Kissing in Public Rude?

“Majority admit being too affectionate in public is not shameless at all. This was highlighted”

Majority admit being too affectionate in public is not shameless at all. This was highlighted in a poll, which was carried out by Meetville.com (dating app to find the right person) between 10/6/14 and 2/6/15. In the poll people were asked: “Is it OK to show your affection in public?”

Number of respondents 79,715. From the USA – 87%, from Canada – 2%, from Britain – 4%, Australia – 3% and other countries – 4%.

Public displays of affection may break etiquette rules sometimes, but they are good for relationships, especially for marriages. Greg Trimble, a famous blogger, says: “All of the happy long term marriages I’ve seen each seem to have the same thing in common. Almost without fail, the spouses always greet each other with a kiss, just like when they were first dating. Not a kiss that would make everyone else sick around them but a kiss that you can tell is standard in their relationship.”

It depends on the kind of relationships partners have. “There is something special about a couple in a crowded room that beeline it to each other after locking eyes for the first time that day. I don’t care whether they are 90 years old or 20 years old. It’s as if no one else in the room matters… and for that brief moment, they have dedicated a few seconds to each other to reconnect. When they kiss… its not hurried and you can tell they’re not embarrassed. It’s their moment and they don’t care who is watching. They make it magical, and instead of others throwing up, they’re left in awe,” adds Greg Trimble.

Alex Cusper, Meetville service analyst, states: “Although everyone has a different definition of intimacy, there is nothing bad in public displays of affection if a couple doesn’t break social etiquette rules and accepted standards. When kissing or hugging, don’t forget that there can be little kids nearby.”
