Many people think that sexual chemistry is something you should look for in a long-term relationship. Meetville.com (dating app to find the right person) addressed the issue in the course of a survey, held from 2/19/14 to 8/19/14.
The poll posed the question: “Does sex compatibility matter?”, the responses to which were: “Yes” - 80% and “No” - 20%.
The total number of participants was 134,257. From the USA - 50%, from Canada - 4%, from Britain - 11%, from Australia - 6% and from other countries - 29%.
Margie Nichols, a sex therapist, refers to her work experience to support the idea that sexual compatibility is essential to relationship success and satisfaction. “I have seen couples who were miserable because of unsatisfactory sex life. Affairs among this type of couples are more common, not because the relationship is flawed but because the person with unmet sexual needs feels a need to keep their sexual self alive”.
Surprisingly enough, men and women were equally represented on both sides of the question, with 78% of male voting “Yes” and 70% - “No”.
Alex Cusper, Meetville service analyst, admits that many women worry they’re incompatible because men usually want sex more. “However, sexual compatibility is more that just hormones. It is a willingness to please your partner and therefore both partners have to work hard to make the relationship work,” says Alex.
Meetville, a leading mobile dating service, regularly conducts research among its users. Millions of people from the U.S., Canada, Britain and Australia answer hundreds of questions every month.
