Americans’ Attitude Towards Having Sex in the Workplace

More than half of Americans believe it’s okay to have sex at work. Meetville.com (dating app to find the right person) released a poll, conducted in the period from 6/26/14 to 9/5/14.

People were asked: “Is it rude to have sex in your office at work?”  The results indicate that out of 46,858 respondents 60% don’t mind having sex at work. When comparing, this behavior is very common in the USA (53% of votes), but it occurs quite frequently in various developed countries, such as Canada - 4%, Britain - 12%, Australia - 7% and other countries - 24%. What pushes employees to take up the risk?

Relationship expert Jim Duzak, believes “There’s no way to prevent employees from becoming sexually attracted to each other, and there’s probably no way to prevent affairs between people who are determined to risk everything in order to have one. It is the thought of getting caught that gives them the thrill,” says Jim. “However, unfortunate careers can be ruined when people act on the sexual attraction.”

Among those who don’t have a problem with sexual affairs at work, males significantly prevail: male votes - 80%, female - 20%.

Alex Cusper, Meetville service analyst, says: “It may be a gender issue, but more often it's a power issue. More men are in high level positions than women are, which provokes them even more to engage in a sexual affair.”
