7 Things Happy Couples Do Before Going to Bed

“Do you ever feel as if you have lost sight of what’s important in your”

Do you ever feel as if you have lost sight of what’s important in your relationship? Do you go to bed flooded with thoughts of what you have to do? If you find that you feel stressed and you aren’t focused on your relationship, then you may want to change up your nightly routine.

Having the time spent with each other and ending your day on a positive note together can really go a long way. The good habits that you develop together can really help you to reunite and stay strong together as a couple.

Forget about work

It's very important when you can share your problems with your partner but don't do it in bed. Your bed is a place for just you two and there is no place for your co-workers or an angry boss. Don't check your emails or chat with colleagues. You've been with them for the whole day and your partner missed you, so spend some time with them. The best part is that you have so much to discuss! Talk about your plans for a weekend, a new outfit, a delicious dinner, a new movie that you want to watch, etc. The topics could vary depending on your interests but you'd definitely find something to talk about except work.

Give each other a massage

Specialists from the National Foundation of Sleep confirm that soft and light massage improves the quality of sleep, makes you more relaxed, and brings couples closer together.

Put your phones and tablets away

Think about how many times did you spend in bed surfing on the Internet without paying attention to your partner. What is more, social media dependency suppresses the release of oxytocin in your body. This hormone is responsible for emotional intimacy and bonding. So, turn your phones off for a while and spend some bedtime with your loved one.

Follow bedtime routine

Following a bedtime routine makes you sleep better. But sharing a routine with someone is very intimate and helps you bond with this person. You can also create your own bedtime routine which would help you become even closer.

Don't argue before going to sleep

First of all, you won't sleep well. The negative emotions would influence your mental health and mood for the next day. And as going to bed together is a very important couple routine, you should feel good about each other while doing it.

Keep your bedroom child-free and pet-free

Your bedroom is the place for you two, not a common room. You can spend time with your family in the living room or in the kitchen but keep your bedroom an intimate place that is not for everyone.

Remember hugs and kisses

What can show your love and affection more than cuddling and kissing in bed? It's scientifically proved that 68% of women prefer cuddling and kissing over sex. But we are sure that men won't be against a few kisses as well ;)
