I am an easy going and fun guy who is looking for companionship. I am 40 although I don't look (or act it) most times. Most people have a difficult time believing I am not younger so I intend to enjoy that for as long as possible. I can be goofy and silly at times but then other times I love to just sit with a book and enjoy the quiet. A good sense of humor ( I love to laugh) and a little bit of a sarcastic edge is a must. I love kids and am okay with someone who has children but I prefer to save meeting them for a little later.I have been a musician virtually my entire life so music is pretty much at my core. A woman who knows her music is a big plus in my book. I will admit to publicly disparaging many pop songs yet singing them endlessly when nobody is around. I'm really not into the bar scene. I have spent many years playing the local bars and at this point would prefer a wine tasting or art show as opposed to a nightclub. Although I do occasionally like to go out and party it up like everyone else, I will admit to also being somewhat of a homebody. I do like to get out and try new things though. I can get dressed up with the best of them but prefer jeans and a t-shirt. Who doesn't though right? I have spent a long time as a rock musician but these days prefer quieter acoustic stuff. I also love movies. Especially really bad movies. Bad scary movies, bad sci-fi... Whatever. As long as the acting is awful and the budget was low. I also like good and great movies as well of course. Not much of a TV guy as I feel that movies are far more engaging but I do have my guilty TV pleasures. Other things I enjoy are reading, restoring and decorating my home, looking for antiques, building ***, quality time with friends and family and way too much more to list. Not really a sports guy (except boxing) but I can get into them at times and can enjoy the experience.My ideal date would of course love some of the same things I do while offering new experiences and opportunities. I would love to expand my horizons and want to learn about what interests others. Smart women are the best. I love a girl that can be a princess at times but still willing to get their hands dirty. I am not a big burly guy so I like a petite woman. I don't workout 10 days a week or participate in triathalons but I am slender, fit and try to eat healthy. That's pretty much it in a nutshell. People always go to movies where you can't talk, clubs where you can't talk and restaurants no real people can actually afford, while wearing clothes they would otherwise never wear to try to make a good impression or pretend they are wealthier than they are. I do OK but I am not rich and not trying to pretend to be. But I have a good time anyway. I like to get dressed up but prefer a t-shirt and jeans like everyone else. So let's just do that. I would rather meet the real and everyday somebody and have them meet the real and everyday me.

i saw the perfect quote on one of the women's profile today that sums all this hoopla up. "finding someone that's worth waking up to is better than finding someone to sleep with"we all gotta find somebody who's worth it and knows that we're worth it!at 37 years old, after 2 divorces, i am the happiest that i have ever been in my entire life. first and foremost, i am looking to take my time, i mean really take it slow. i may even perhaps take a few years to get to know someone before i am willing to get serious. I DO NOT BELIEVE IN/VALUE PREMARITAL SEX ANYMORE(that's for myself only....everybody else can do what they want). if you are all into premarital sex, make sure your boyfriend and you get tested. it is so easy to do for something so important, it's ridiculous not to get tested. anybody who doesn't want to is a flake. i am in recovery for addiction to drugs and alcohol and after countless attempts to get clean and sober, i am finding that my core values are changing so much. i have been doing MAT(medication assisted treatment) for the past 7 months and it is working really well. i take a lot of naps and really value my free time. i work for a moving company ***days/week and enjoy my job very much. hoping to make a transition to a customer service or sales job at the end of the year. i avoid drama and games like the plague. i like to gamble a little bit. i have AWESOME friends! i recently went from not smoking to smoking a pipe and i enjoy it a lot. i just got my license back and i have been saving for a car(update today i think i found one/replacement title is on it's way). i work about 1mile from home.my credit is shot to hell and i live with my parents. i really enjoy living with my parents by the way. they are awesome and it's great that i get to spend time with them on a regular basis. they are amazing to me and i owe them everything. i do a heck of a lot of stuff for my recovery, so i go to different types of meetings, counseling and recovery related activities throughout the week.i am looking for someone who is passionate about something, whether it be helping the poor or becoming filthy rich. there's not much more that i can think of right now, but if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. i'm not really down with talking on the phone right away, so i am open to texting for a while, at least in the beginning. like i said, i really desire to take things slowi eat lots of candy and junk food and waste money on energy drinks. after child support, i have little money left over for recreational spending. my birth family is split in half by hatred. i don't know why i mentioned that. it just seems important.i like all types of music, but especially movie soundtracks and opera music. i have many dreams! i also have a great work ethic, but am by no means a workaholic... i am looking for someone who is passionate about something, whether it be helping the poor or becoming filthy rich. Hi there... I'm cheerful, optimistic and extremely creative. I have an off-beat sense of humor that can border on absurd at times. I can be sarcastic, but never hateful. I can't stand that.And speaking of humor, I'm kind of a comedy nerd. When I'm not working as a graphic designer, I'm usually performing with a local comedy troupe. We perform improvisation, sketch comedy and make short films. I'm definitely a social person but tend to be the quiet one in the group, it just takes me a bit to warm up to someone new. On an average weekend you can find me checking out a band - probably country but anything good will do, looking for a new restaurant, sharing a round of drinks with friends or just lounging on the couch watching a movie or catching up on the DVR. During the week you'll catch me at the gym - sometimes before work, sometimes after; out for country night (Tuesday) and playing team trivia (Thursday and maybe one other night) or playing sports. Beyond that, I'll try pretty much anything. I also like to travel and it would be fun to have someone to site see with. I've seen most of the US and a few other places. I don't know if I would saying cooking is an interest but on that note I do cook - prefer the grill to the stove (I also clean up after myself but I am by no means a clean freak). Aside from that some of my interests include history and nature and those are a couple of my favorite cable channels. I'm not a big sitcom fan - more drama / action/adventure / sci-fi - and sports of course, mainly football and UFC. I can talk about almost any topic and enjoy a good conversation - serious or not. I'm not a fan of "20 question" type conversations though…maybe a result of my job. I have my masters degree in IT and have been working in IT for over 12 years (in law firms); aside from that I have been in the military and worked in law enforcement.I am very close to my family and will always be there for them. Both of my parents are disabled and I do as much as I can to help them when they need it. I have a younger sister and a niece. I have great friends and consider myself very lucky in that respect. *Demonstration of my sense of humor* Doesn't everyone say this if you're going to? I mean, is it kind of redundant right - like someone is going to say "I hate my family and have no friends"?? What am I looking for? The romantic in me (don't ask me to admit to that in public) is looking for that love at first site (?), happily ever after thing. Is that out there? Maybe…but I'm not in a rush, I guess it's one those things I'd rather do right the first time. I believe in finding someone who compliments my lifestyle as well as I compliment theirs. We don't have to have everything in common but at least a few things would be good! ;) That said, I'm looking for someone who I can have a good conversation with about anything or just sit back and relax and stare at the stars on a clear night. A sense of humor is required - hopefully odd or at least capable to dealing with mine (and my dad's)! Hopefully we can learn something from each other as well. A first date should be about getting to know each other better. As much as I enjoy concerts and sporting events, I'd rather keep it low-key - something where we can chat without yelling over whatever is happening. An idea that would be fun is checking out a museum, dinner, coffee shop, walking around - hopefully the weather will make that a more pleasant experience soon!

It seems that cooking, fixing things and traveling are a lot alike. They ALL allow for new experiences.When I am in the kitchen cooking I enjoy a number of different musical selections. Bare Naked Ladies was by far the best concert I have been to, followed by Creed in Germany which was awesome. This summer I hoping that Train comes to town because I bet they would put on an amazing show. It seems that strange things happen when traveling.... :) Needless to say we had a few laughs for a while.Whether it’ I have found that fixing up my house has been very rewarding.
