*updated Oct 4, ***I am a nice guy. I am really friendly and I've been told I'm pretty easy to get along with. I can be a little introspective and quiet when you first are getting to know me, because I have always been a little shy with new people, but I open up pretty quickly once I have gotten to know someone. I really try to see the best in everyone, and I make the effort to really make things work. But I'm also not someone who will put up with a lot of B.S.. I am honest, brutally so if need be, and I will address things head on if they bother me, or are causing problems. Most people appreciate that about me because I don't let stuff just be a problem that is never fixed and ruins a relationship, I also don't give up on people easy. I am also determined. I set my goals, and I get what I want, and I don't give up easily. If something is important to me, I will accomplish it. And I will also help other people get what is important to them, because I like helping people and don't think that my happiness should ever come at the cost of someone else's. I am a pretty smart guy too (but not a know it all, I know when to admit I am wrong or don't know something). My education is very important to me, I had to take some time off from getting my degrees after high school to work full time because of some personal/family issues so I am still working on my masters in clinical social work. But I am working on it so that I can work in the area I have a passion for (mental health and counseling, especially with LGBTQ adolescents and young adults).I am also a very creative person and I appreciate other creative people. I love street fairs, cultural festivals, art shows, parks, the theater and museums. I love creating new things, and solving problems in new creative ways. I love it when other people share their work with me too. When I have down time and the energy to do it (grad school is not for the weak) I love to draw, paint, and write myself, and someday I would love to publish some of my work.When I just need to unwind from a week of volunteering, internship, and studying I love to hang out with friends, try new things, have new experiences, and have great conversations. I like to go out, and have fun, and be around lots of people and actually enjoy going out dancing with the right people (or all by myself if I just need to burn off some steam). But while the clubs can be fun I would rather be somewhere I can actually hear the person/people I'm with. I'm not really one for sitting in a movie theater, even with the big special effect movies I would rather wait for DVD and watch it with friends or cuddled up with someone special on the couch then sit in the movie theater. If I am staying in (which is really nice too... everyone needs their down time) I love to read or play video games. I'm partial to MMO's because I like playing with friends. And while I enjoy gaming, I am definitely a "real world comes first" person, so no in game even is ever going to come before actually spending time with real people.What am I looking forI am looking for a nice guy who shares interests with me. I'm not really a either/or, hot/cold type of guy. Sometimes I develop feelings toward a guy. Sometimes I don't. Sometimes they develop. I have a threshold for social situations.If you have a lot of prejudice against Blacks, Asians, effeminate-acting gay men, trans people, or (god help you) if you're a misogynist - I'm definitely not the guy for you. If you avoid anything "gay" (gay pride, gay clubs, gay activism) just because it's "gay" then I'm probably not the guy for you. It ain't my whole life but it's still a part of it. I prefer to keep it simple and have dinner, coffee, or something like that.
