Every day on my commute home I pass a house with a front porch. On that front porch every night there is an older couple sitting, having a drink, talking, and enjoying each others company. That is probably one of the best examples of why I am dipping my toes into the pond. I spend a good amount of time volunteering. I am pretty wide open for a first date. I would probably prefer it to be a situation where we would be able to talk and get to know each other.
