I am a small town girl, born and raised. I'm a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. I own several dresses but they rarely see the outside of my closet. He is seven and the most important thing in my life. I have ***custody of him so I get to be a mom and still have a life outside of my family.I should also mention that I am an atheist. I feel very strongly about my beliefs and I'm not willing to change them. I'm not saying that I can't be with someone who believes differently than me but it would be nice to have someone who isn't going to try and "save" me. I think I am a wonderful person (better than alot of religious people I know) and I don't plan on changing any time soon. No movie! It is impossible to get to know someone inside a theater. I like going out for dinner and having a good conversation. Maybe going out for some drinks afterwards.

I grew up in a house where boys ask girls out and you take your hat off when you walk in the door. Funny how things change.Just like everyone else I like to travel, but I've learned my version of adventure is different than most around here. My friends and family mean a lot to me and I spend time with them as often as I can whether they are local or a plane ride away. Around town I'm usually looking for an excuse to try a new restaurant, see a show with friends, or go to a game, but I'm also up for a night in cooking and catching up on the DVR, which I'm favoring more and more these days. I also spend a lot of time working on projects around the house and am hoping I'm finally done putting furniture together! I play tennis sporadically and even though I am not a serious runner, I've run a couple of races just to prove to myself I can.- no judging for all you marathoners out there!- If it takes me more than five minutes to fall asleep I'm convinced I have insomnia- I'm not a morning person- I don't understand guys who don't like sports- I travel a lot, but I'm not a light packer- I love water except for drinking it- I don't like naps, but love to sleep- I get excited about simple things- I have a new found love for guacamole- I wish my house was as clean as it is organized- I'd rather regret something I did than something I didn't do- I ask a lot of questions, but only because I actually want to know the answers- I think Saturdays in the fall are meant for watching football Something simple that I don't have to plan.

I'll update this a little and put the bomb shell on here.. I recently got diagnosed with breast cancer and will be going through treatments until the end of this year.. I'm trying to continue on through life and still get out there and meet people.. I don't expect to find the love of my life here but you never know if you don't try, so I'm trying.. I'm not any less hopeful for my future and don't think that having this cancer should stop me from living life, having fun and meeting people!!! My friends would describe me as an outgoing, outspoken, fun and care free girl.. I would say I'm a little shy and stand offish until you get to know me, then I tend to agree with what my friends say.. but I've been walked on by too many people and have decided that, those who take the time to get to know the real me are better friends in the long run... :-)I'm very open and very honest.. sometimes that's a great thing and sometimes it's not.. but on a dating site, I think being open and honest will be to everyone's benefit.. I have come to the conclusion, I'm not what most men are looking for.... Being a single mom to a wonderful 9 year old boy and looking out for my father who has dementia, doesn't leave much free time in my life. I believe I'm doing exactly what God wants me to do, and bottom line is that I am a family person-I am looking for a Christian family man. I love going out and having fun at hockey games, fairs, airshows, Dave & Busters...you can have fun doing anything especially if you are with the right company. I love music of all kinds, depending on my mood that day. Some of my faves include Pink, Switchfoot, Skillet, Nickelback, 80's music, whatever plays on Star 94, but not really big on country. I enjoy cooking (maybe it's more eating my cooking), try to live a healthy lifestyle and try to laugh as much as possible. I can be a little nerdy and would like someone who gets my sense of humor-many do not...I can dress up really nice and can be just as comfortable in jeans playing ball in the park.I believe in getting to know someone as a friend first and see where things go from there. If you can't be a friend, than you definitely can't be anything more. I hope one day to find a good man to share a personal and spiritual journey with...One thing that I have to throw in here that sucks and has been a big deal-breaker in the past...I'm allergic to animals (dogs and cats) and can't have them in my home/or be in a home with them.
