I'm a part time adventurer. People often forget the basics of life by allowing themselves to get wrapped up in the details.Now I make ice cream, and find the whole thing unbelievably satisfying and rewarding.I'm a writer currently in the grips of writing several stories that may or may not ever actually be finished. In fact, I fully anticipate that most of them will never be done and I'm sort of 'fine' with that. On a related note, I love storytelling. I think that it is a dying art, and strongly believe that stories tell us how to live.I'm looking for someone who has an idea of what they want out of their life. Recognizing ones own faults is a sign of growth, and we are all growing.Personal goals, I would like to finish at least one of the books I am chipping away at writing, become independently wealthy enough to buy a hunk of property somewhere that I can keep a cat and a dog, and build a big person equivalent of a "Hobbit Hole." I'd have a garden, a shop, a library, and disappear into the woods for days at a time.Also I am going to try to live to be ***. Wish me luck.Also also, I want a Tardis. Badly.Hm, I hope that wasn't too specific. I'm actually trying not to make this profile seem too 'wordy.' That said, if you like wordy people, maybe we should hang out. They are a group of easy going, kind hearted, protective people, and anyone I would introduce to them would eventually have to pass the trials. They will judge you to see if you are worthy, and I'm not threatening here, just giving a heads up. These are some of the most lovely and beautiful people you could ever hope to meet, and they will probably tease you (and me) about meeting on a dating site.I need my own time and space. I am so down for including people in activities whenever possible, but sometimes, I do (and can) tell my friends "Nah, not tonight. I just need to decompress by myself." I love having people around who share my interests, bringing in new people to the things I love and almost as much as all that, I love being able to do my own thing in the company of others while they in turn do their own thing. Being comfortable with someone means you don't need to have a constant conversation, or do things to stay entertained.I am a geek who walks the fine line between "socially competent" and "one of the nerdier people you know." It is a very fine line and I really don't know how I do it. In fact it might all just be in my head, which frankly is the place that matters most to me. I am direct with what I want and generally very good at understanding people and their thoughts or emotions. I know how to give a compliment and mean it. I take a great deal of care in making sure that the people around me have their needs met and are happy.R.R Tolkien, The Dalai Lama, and The Doctor.Jesus I write too much. I swear, I never talk about myself in person.Does anyone seriously read more than 1 paragraph? Probably not.Ah well, consider yourself over-educated. Go someplace for tea. We could sit down, each with a stack of books, and take turns reading favorite passages/quotes out of them. Maybe talk about them a little, but not necessarily. At the conclusion of the stacks, I would think we might have a pretty reasonable idea about one another.Second date would have to be something like a solid hike or a kayaking trip out on the bay (weather permitting), maybe a trip to the shooting range if you're interested (I'm not a crazy gun person by any means, but I do think it's fun.) Follow it up with dinner and/or a pub. (Any of those things probably means I like you by the way.)Incidentally, I am a complete sucker for a girl with a nice laugh. This is completely selfish though, because I tend to make people laugh often, and I like to be surrounded by nice things.Have I mentioned my occasionally dry sense of humor?

I live downtown, and love being close to all the action! It's great to be able to walk to local bars and restaurants.I like to work out a lot (great stress reducer), and enjoy the local festivals around town throughout the year. Travel is a key part of my life, and I like to go on at least one big trip a year. Last year was a cruise on the world's largest cruise ship (it was awesome!). I've also been to several places in Europe and Asia. I'm looking to add somewhere in Africa to my list soon, as well South America (would love to travel to Argentina and Uruguay).

I know this sounds cliche as hell, but in general, I'm really laid back. I'm happy doing pretty much anything as long as its not being alone watching tv, playing video games, or sleeping(sorry gamers and couch potatoes) I'm happy when I'm busy, so I try to stay that way. I work days all week, go to school nights, and train in boxing at an mma gym almost everyday. I love travelling, and try to take as many trips as I can(usually at least 1 distant trip a year). I try to do good and have fun with anything I do. Whether I'm working, learning, spending time with family, travelling, or just spending time with friends; I always try to get the most out of my time and enjoy it as much as I can. I joke around a lot, even in the worst of situations. As long as I can find humor, I can't be unhappy. I'd rather any regret in the world than to say I wasted time being unhappy.I've become really fond of meeting new people and sharing experiences. While travelling, I always tend to make friends. I'm extremely open, so it's rarely hard for me to interact with new people. I prefer to meet either people of completely different background from me, or who seem they share similar passions to me. Finding similar outlooks between myself and people who are seemingly different from me, inspires me in some way. Comparing views on similar passions with others allows me to expand on my own passions through the feelings of others. I go on this site just to meet people, without any expectations. I'm open to going on dates, friendships, simply messaging, or whatever comes. I am not looking for a relationship at this time. I have nothing against relationships, simply feel I am not currently in an appropriate position to be a part of one. Message me asking whatever you'd like to know or stating whatever you'd like. I'm not easily offended. Depends on the person and how I feel that day. I only really get out on weekends, so I try to do something different every weekend. Most times its a spontanious decision based on what mood I'm in and what people I'm with feel like doing. Life's too short to waste time doing things you don't really want to, so lately I just do whatever I feel like. It could be a game if I want to watch sports, could be a club if I want to dance, could be some nice romantic night out if I'm feeling fancy, could be travelling someplace if I want to get away, or in rare cases when I'm worn out it could be just hanging out locally.
