I've got a good thing going out here, and I'd like to make it just a little bit better by enjoying it with you... so come on down, and welcome to the show...I'm just a laid back guy who likes to have fun. I love the outdoors but try not to spend my entire life outdoors. I like the gym but don't live at the gym. I just got into crossfit but don't drink the "crossfit coolaid". I've spent my entire career working outdoors in one way or another and NOT inside an office, which is how I like it. The sensation of being inside an office feels similar to drowning for me. So I avoid it at all costs. Otherwise I spend my time snowboarding, hiking, backpacking, or thinking up new ways to bring sarcasm and wit into everyday, mundane situations. It's a nice life I lead... clean, simple, and drama free. Y'all seem to enjoy complicating things unnecessarily sometimes. Please don't complicate my life with your nonsense. That's all I really ask. Otherwise... bring it on. I am really good at: Staying calm and smiling when I don't really want to. Daydreaming. Laughing at inappropriate things during inappropriate times. Getting irritable pets that bite to like and not bite me. Driving long distances. Riding trains. Feeling awkward when there's no reason to be feeling awkward. Drinking (which is why I don't). Sleeping. Exercising. Staying active. Watching movies. Pretending to understand heavily accented conversations when in reality I have no clue what anyone is saying at all. Writing like Kerouac on speed. Writing poetry even though I can't stand poetry. Snowboarding. Avoiding people I don't like. Managing to find the squeaky, lumpy-wheeled shopping cart every.single.time. Not eating seafood. Staying disciplined and positive. Swimming like a fish. And of course... not being a**** Also, I have never hit a woman. Nor have I ever even considered hitting a woman. I think this should be one of the items on POF's checklist. Right next to smoking preference. Somewhere public. Ladies, you should do the same. Although a nice hike in the woods sounds like a fantastic idea for our first date, I don't know you, and we've all seen those crime TV shows about love gone wrong. Who needs all that? Dinner or a nice city walk works for me (on me of course). Maybe we hit up the trail on the second or third date.

It's great to be able to walk to local bars and restaurants.I like to work out a lot (great stress reducer), and enjoy the local festivals around town throughout the year. Like most of you, I love to travel. But I'm enjoying being back in my native, soon-to-be-frozen city.I'm getting my Ph.D because I want to work in academia, probably teaching at a law school. Right now, I have a couple of jobs based in legal research and writing and I'm an editor extraordinaire. When my nose is not in a book, I'm out being active. I love to find interesting things to do around town. After college I realized I had been doing basically the same thing every single night, and I have a major fear of seeing my life like that ever again. Still, I try to be outdoors-y even in this iron playground. I appreciate all kinds of music, but a seeing a good rock or jazz concert live is amazing. I like going to stand-up comedy shows, and I've even frequented a handful of symphonies in the past few years.; yeah, whatever, I'm cultured.....No, not really. When you meet me, you'll realize I evince more of the beach bum, easygoing attitude I relished in SD. But I read a ton, and I like to share things I've learned (part of why I want to teach). Still, I feel like this means more than just blurting out random trivia. It's more about engaging in a conversation, and picking up on what interests the other person. I'm looking for someone beautiful, intelligent, and with some sort of unique character. I tend to see the good in people, so I'm sure this applies to you. It depends, we should probably meet up for a drink and chat first. If I already know the you, I'd go with the dinner pus some fun event. But obviously there should be some ice breaker off the internet.
