EDIT ***: As if my profile wasn't long enough to begin with, now I need to add a disclaimer. I'm pretty much over online dating and almost over dating in general. I have more important things in my life that are in dire need of attention, and dating is just not feasible for me right now. I'm keeping my profile up in the off chance there is someone out there who is really REALLY cool with that. The strongest relationships are built when you grow together, right? Now back to your regularly scheduled program. Ohai.I am a dreamer. I'm energetic, enthusiastic, and multi-demensional. I use a lot of analogies and metaphor in my daily speech. I can be very goofy sometimes, borderline Monty Python silly ("dork" is a common adjective for me) but I can still wax poetic, and throw down some deep philosophical thought too, while still being laced with the word "mother****er" and all other manner of vulgarities.I am just as comfortable in a suit and tie as I am in a pair of torn up jeans and an oil-stained tee shirt. I'm also goddamn polite- I hold doors for people, say please and thank you, and I chew with my mouth closed. In a nutshell, I'm pretty awesome.I love to play guitar and riding my bike; they are an essential part of my daily life. I love to cook, I'm really big on movies, and I love to get out and have fun with friends, even if we're doing something totally random.I love food. No, really. I LOVE food. I cannot stress that enough. If you cook for me, or even give me some food, I will be eternally grateful, possibly even your best friend. I will honestly eat pretty much anything. I am also a huge coffee nut, and I love other nuance-y stuff like wine, beer and chocolate (I can't call myself a connoisseur yet...but I am one of those irritating guys who swirls his wine in the glass and talks about all its subtleties in public. What can I say? I love flavor.)I'm also a weapons grade nerd (I watch anime, play video games and use Linux. 'Nuff said.) but I'm absolutely not the kind to sit alone in the dark on a Saturday with nothing but World of Warcraft and Mountain Dew for company. Hello? McFly? There is such a thing as "having a life" and "going outside"!I tend to come up with offbeat, witty-ish mantras that serve me quite well. Examples like, "life is too short to drink sh*tty booze" and "I'll try anything twice" remind me to stay open minded, even in the face of pain or discomfort, and to aim HIGH. Not everything is what it seems on the first go around, and sometimes it takes two or three passes before you "get it" (IPA drinkers will understand!)Music...is a tough question. While I certainly have my desert island albums, I listen to just about anything (except polka.) However, while I am not opposed to others liking different types of music, I will go on record for saying that if you dislike The Beatles and/or Queen, I will assume you are suffering major grey matter malfunctions, and report you to the nearest mental health facility. And no, liking the Stones is not a sufficient excuse.I want to be very successful, financially, professionally and socially, and I believe I have a good game plan for getting there. I believe in hard work and discipline, and if I want something I have to work for it- I hate it when people think they deserve a handout. I try and stay current with the times, but I am not at all about keeping up with the Joneses.I want to meet someone who is down to earth, but isn't afraid or too jaded to dream big, and is willing and motivated to reach for their goals. Someone intelligent and capable of taking care of themselves; someone who can change their own motor oil, knows when to use a hammer versus a screwdriver, and laughs at other girls who can't use their phones because they keep their nails too long. Being empathetic is always good, but also knowing when to kick people in the butt too. I am not very superficial, but I do want to meet someone who takes care of their body and their appearance; self-respect is very sexy (as long as your not egotistical about it) but please, dear god, don't make it the central theme in your life! It's vapid and predictable.I like people who are willing to take a chance and are fun to be around, so some major deal breakers for me are being an irretrievably fussy eater, stubbornly opposed to trying new things, or spending all of your free time doing the same old boring things. Please be in touch with your emotions and know how to handle them constructively, and be honest with yourself and others; I like realistic, goal oriented people, who are true to their feelings. Finally, I value the ability to listen and communicate above ALL else, so you need to be able to express your thoughts and feelings constructively, directly and honestly without getting confrontational, being open to other peoples as well, and for god's sake, know how to admit when you're wrong. I guess you can call it being diplomatic :DOn the flip side, if you have less than two pictures, or don't smile in any of them, or only posting group pictures without saying where you are in the picture, I'm more than likely not going to respond. Same goes for "tAlKiN lIeK dIs" or not knowing your basic "there/their/they're" (I'm shocked, saddened and a little frightened to see people mixing up "patience/patients" and "peaked/piqued" too!) At least try to write like you have a brain in your head, and act like your momma taught you some class. Also please read my profile before you message me, because I DO have a brain. Finally, to steal something I saw on someone elses profile, it's totally cool if you don't ask me any questions and make me carry the whole conversation. Just don't expect me to go out of my way to maintain contact with you...I do feel like I need to put a word of caution out there: I am an atheist, a social liberal and a financial conservative, and while this doesn't mean I am opposed to dating someone who is religious or having opposing views, it does mean that if you use your god as a justification for hatred or bigotry, or if you support big military (I support our troops- not the military) we will probably not get along. And I'm surprised that this has happened enough to justify putting something on my profile, but I AM NOT INTO TRANSSEXUALS. That's cool if that's your bag, and I'll fight for your rights, but it's not what I'm into. I prefer to keeps things simple on the first date. Walk around and talk, really getting to know each other, see if there's anything interesting going on, maybe grab a cup of coffee (as long as it's not Starbucks...I can't stand crappy coffee) and see where things go. Or hell, lets meet up at a bar and dance our asses off! I'm not cheap, but I don't want to risk spending a ton of money on someone I may or may not like. If you can't appreciate the little things, or you HAVE to be wined and dined on every date, you're probably not someone I'll even want to spend my time with, let alone my money. A fool and his money, if they can even get together in the first place, throw an awesome party...Nevertheless, let's do something that will either get us talking or having a blast and a half!
