I grew up in the country in Southwestern Va. (very close to Tenn.)I'm old fashioned in some ways and not, in others!I like to be outdoors, even if just for a walk. I have a 23 yr. old son. He's a good kid. Works hard. Plays drums.I love to travel. Have seen some of the U.S. I've stayed at 5 star resorts & I've traveled "on a shoe string". It doesn't matter to me, it's the experience that counts! When I travel I tell the cab driver to take me where he would go. I have seen and done some "interesting" things that way. Also,enjoy meeting the locals that way. My 5 yr. I enjoy baking, cooking, especially on the grill. (I didn't say I was good, just said I enjoy:) I have a green thumb, plants have taken over my house! He's great! (And we're the exact same weight)Love boats and Harleys. (I have neither.Yet)I read books, not a Kindle. Books just feel better in my hands. Follow politics and current events. Much more interesting than reality shows.I like to get out in the country, the woods, the beach. Or go out with friends to hear music. I'm a free spirit. People say I have a great sense of humor. I have a serious side too. I like museums, the theatre and ANYTHING to do with history. But staying in can be great with the RIGHT person! I'm very Patriotic. I'm very curious, love to learn!! Am taking more pre-reqs for a better job in the medical field. If you say you don't want any drama (what an overused line) ....you're usually the one with the drama. For all the commitment phobes, don't flatter yourself. It's a DATING site, not a "Hey I like his picture, marry me site", so relax :)Ok, sorry if that sounds negative, but some of these guys profiles....lol A place we could hear ourselves talk but not so quiet we could hear the crickets if there's a lull in the conversation. I am just back from a Bahamas cruise so decide to post some new pics and update things a bit. ? So anyway a bit about me. Just a normal lady, looking to find someone to spend some time with and see what happens. One of my friends said this feels too much like writing ones obituary...and I think he may be right. But how the heck are you going to know if you want to meet me, or go out with me if I don’t tell you something……so hey…..here goes. From reading so many of these profiles I have determined that we all enjoy being outdoors, we all love the beach, we all consider ourselves to be pretty active, and we all work out or exercise ***times a week. I’d be a liar if I said I work out that often, but I do try to take care of myself. I have never been married, but gave back two rings, no children, unless you count the two cats….which I do as they are treated better than a lot of children. The IRS keeps giving me a hard time every time I try claiming them as dependents. ? I really do love the outdoors and when I grow up I want to be a farmer. I am also a bit sarcastic…but you probably noticed that already. Another friend of mine calls that “snark.” He’s right too. I’ve got some smart and fun guy friends, but alas, not the right one….and yet I keep coming back here and looking to see if he (could it be you?) is out here. I am trying to keep this a bit on the lighter side. Sometimes I think we take ourselves too seriously when writing these things. So I’m trying to just have some fun with it. I also really do love the beach and I tan easily and love water activities. I know how to kayak and can handle myself on a small boat…but mostly I really like to lay on the beach and drink tropical drinks with little umbrellas in them. I found out on the cruise that I am really good at that. ?I do some “Charity-Pay it Forward" well intentioned sort of things with my time. I work with a teenage youth group from my church and I’m experienced in mini golf, glow in the dark golf, mid-nite bowling, lazer tag, (but I really suck at that one) I am working up to “rock climbing” and an overnight kayak trip on the Allegheny. I’ve also done a few Mission trips, and handled many service projects with many groups of teenagers who keep moving thru the ranks. So my own self- description is “a good Christian girl, with a bit of a wild side. :-) If you decide you want to meet me we can go into greater detail regarding that “wild side.” A girl has to have a few secrets…..Anyhow……….I think that is enough BS in this section...thanks for reading and if you got this far, we might actually get along…..shoot me an *** One last thing…if all you want is for me to send you more pics of myself, please move on. I've been told that have one of those personalities that can get along with anyone. It is mainly because I listen and care about what you're saying. My life has been enhanced by working with children and young adults, who keep me young and remind me to appreciate life and live it to the fullest. It is important for me to stay active. Simple things like a game of catch or Frisbee or even washing cars together are fun. My bike riding is getting better. I'm not a fan of camping, but will do it once in awhile if a canoe trip is involved. That doesn't mean I don't like the outdoors. Campfires are the bomb!!! Dinner and movies are fine! I'm into gardening and interior decorating and I'm not afraid of hard work. It's fun trying new things and I really like school. I am very much into the KC music scene and can show you lots. I am spiritual person of strong faith but not so much about religion. If I had the ideal relationship it would be someone who works hard, owns their own home and likes it that way! It needs to be someone who takes time for me by listening & seeing each other fairly regular basis. I'm over the "playing game" but willing to try because as male and female we truly think differently and it is a must! Real intelligence is super sexy, which is very different than being a "know-it-all"! That would be my Mr. Right! Maybe our time together will lead into something and perhaps it wont; but either way we can still have a friendship and that's very cool.
