People opinion on dating an unemployed partner divided almost equally in the course of the survey held by Meetville (dating app to find the right person).
The poll was held from 2/4/14 to 7/15/14 and posed the question “Would you date someone unemployed?”, to which participants responded Yes - 53% and No - 47%.
What is interesting, among men the statistics looks as follows - Yes - 57% and No - 41%. Among women - Yes - 43% and No - 59%.
According to Evan Marc Katz, American dating coach, for some guys, unemployment is the last thing they want to reveal to a potential date. Even if men aren’t expected to pay for a date, they feel pressure from women who are looking for someone who is financially stable.
The total number of participants was 164,253. From the USA - 76%, from Canada - 2%, from Britain - 6%, Australia - 4% and other countries - 12%.
Alex Cusper, Meetville service analyst, says such statistics was quite predictable. “Men and women are becoming more and more equal in the relationship in our highly developed society. Still women are more likely to look for stable partners, with whom they can plan their future. That’s why most women would like to have a partner with a job”.
