What’s Public Attitude Towards Sex with Ex-Partner

“Majority believe that sleeping with an ex is just asking for trouble. This was made”

Majority believe that sleeping with an ex is just asking for trouble. This was made clear by a poll, carried out by Meetville.com (dating app to find the right person) between the 5/20/14 and 9/10/14.

The poll measured people’s responses to the following question: “Sex with your ex: bad idea or great idea?” A whopping 69% agree that ex-sex is always a bad idea.

Participants numbered 82,500. From the USA - 49%, from Canada - 4%, from Britain - 10%, from Australia - 6% and from other countries - 31%.

Few people are mature enough to separate current sex from past patterns, ex-sex is not harmless. “However, having sex with an ex ultimately gives you 'closure' on the relationship," says sex and relationship expert Tracey Cox. “Yet, you should go into it with a clear understanding of what it means to the other person.”

According to another statistics, collected by Meetville.com, more men than women are inclined to believe that ex-sex is a good idea (81% - males, 19% - females).

Alex Cusper, Meetville service analyst, explains that “A lot of men think that if a woman doesn't want to have sex with them it's because they're not attractive. Therefore they are likely to go for sex with an ex, because there’s no need to impress anybody. Moreover, ex-girlfriend is more available if they are looking for a quick lay”.

Meetville, a leading mobile dating service, regularly conducts research among its users. Millions of people from the U.S., Canada, Britain and Australia answer hundreds of questions every month.
