What Do People Think of Plastic Surgery?

People love to look good but not everybody will agree to cosmetic surgery. This was discovered by Meetville (dating app to find the right person) in the course of a new survey, held from 9/26/14 to 12/18/14.

A poll posed the question: “Are you against plastic surgery?”, the responses to which were as follows: positive – 40%, negative – 60%.

The number of respondents was 56,235. From the USA – 68%, from Canada – 3%, from Britain – 10%, Australia – 6% and other countries – 13%.

It’s essential to understand the reason why people want plastic surgery. While some may really need it done in order to cover up serious injuries, others have absolutely different motivation. Greg Stevens, a research scientist and blogger, lists curious reasons for changing looks: “Some people get hand lifts to improve how their hands look in ring selfies. Some people get plastic surgery to look like their favorite pop singers. Some people spend more than $100,000 on plastic surgery to make themselves look like Ken dolls or Barbie dolls.”

Consultant psychologist Eileen Bradbury suggests to be honest with yourself if you’re thinking about getting a cosmetic surgery done: “You're the one who has to live with the outcome. If you rush into the surgery without thinking properly about it, it might be the wrong result, even if the surgery goes well.”

The representation of men and women in the poll has been as follows:  “Yes” votes – Male: 62%, Female: 38% and “No”votes – Male: 64%, Female: 36%.

Alex Cusper, Meetville service analyst, considers that people are free to change their bodies and appearances the way they want. It’s true that some may get addicted to it, but it’s due to psychological and social issues. Since plastic surgery makes a person more confident and happier, there’s nothing wrong with it. Cosmetic surgery helps people feel more beautiful both outside and inside.
