What Americans Think About Government Quotas for Managers
Americans feel the government should not impose quotas for managers. Meetville.com (dating app to find the right person) measured public views in a poll, which was carried out between 7/28/14 and 9/11/14.
When asked: “Should there be a governmental quota for 50% of managing workers in all companies?”, some 42% of those polled replied in the affirmative, while 58% replied in the negative.
Cecile Demailly, consultant on strategy, disruptive change and early adoption within large companies, shares the public opinion. “With the expansion of management came an equal expansion in job titles.Quotas might depreciate value of those people, implying their successes can be ascribed to quotas. They might also hinder the efficient working on the market, by bending recruitment rules based on the right skills selection,” she believes.
Those polled numbered 30,828. Participants represented various countries, where the approach to the matter is different. From the USA - 52% of respondents, from Canada - 4%, from Britain - 13%, from Australia - 7% and from other countries - 24%.
Alex Cusper, Meetville service analyst, says “Companies turn to experience of other countries around the world, as different management styles can be employed dependent on the culture of the business.”
