People Believe Trendy Hairstyle Won't Help to Win Woman's Attention
The short hairstyle which has been in vogue for ages is still ruling the fashion circles. This was shown in the course of a survey, conducted by Meetville.com (dating app to find the right person) between 5/16/14 and 8/26/14.
During the poll people answered the question: “What man hairstyle is more attractive?” With a majority of 73%, the winner came out as the “short hair”.
Those polled numbered 47,984. From the USA - 67%, from Canada - 3%, from Britain - 9%, from Australia - 6% and from other countries - 15%.
Matt Savage, a writer at themodernsavage.com, states that “For your hairstyle to be truly attractive, it has to be congruent with your overall style and personality. Moreover, what we consider to be attractive hair styles today is not a purely fashion issue, but is strongly influenced by religious text and sometimes political context. It is much more socially acceptable for men to wear their hair short. Short hair is commonly looked upon as a masculine trait, while long hair is considered a feminine trait.”
The responses in favor of long hair were evenly split between men and women: male - 50%, female - 50%. However, short hairstyle was mostly supported by men: male votes - 63%, female - 37%.
Alex Cusper, Meetville service analyst, observes that there seems to be something seductive for women about long hairstyles on men. “Male musicians and actors, sex symbols of the modern era, are often seen with longer hairstyles. The preferences differ depending on the woman, but different types of women today seem to be attracted to men with long hair.”
Meetville, a leading mobile dating service, regularly conducts research among its users. Millions of people from the U.S., Canada, Britain and Australia answer hundreds of questions every month.
