Most People in America Are Friendly Towards Hipsters
In modern day America people have changed their attitude towards hipsters. Meetville (dating app to find the right person) released a survey, held from 10/2/14 to 10/27/14, to shed light on the matter.
A poll posed the question: “What is your attitude towards hipsters: positive or negative?”, the responses to which were as follows: Positive - 61%, Negative- 39%.
The number of respondents was 13,144. From the USA - 57%, from Canada 3%, from Britain - 14%, Australia – 7% and other countries – 19%.
Philip Klein, a senior editorial writer for The Washington Examiner, reflects that the growing acceptance of the hipster culture may have been caused by its boost in the big cities. “Even the word “hipster” is now used in a much wider sense and hipsters come in all ages and political persuasions,” he adds.
The representation of men and women in the poll has been as follows: “Yes” votes - Male: 70%, Female: 30% and “No”votes - Male: 82%,Female: 18%.
Alex Cusper, Meetville service analyst, relates the figures to the current rebirth of the appearance of masculinity and the new era of guys – the hipster man. This,to his mind, reflects why so many man are now willing to embrace hipster lifestyle.
