More and more Americans are willing to put their life on line by taking up extreme sports. Meetville.com (dating app to find the right person) tried to look into the matter in the course of the survey, held from 5/30/14 to 7/30/14.
The poll was based on the question: “Do you like extreme sports?”, and had the following results: Yes - 65% and No - 35% .
There were 42,926 participants from different countries. From the USA - 63%, from Canada 4%, from Britain - 11%, Australia – 7% and other countries – 15%.
John Duke, the legend of the world's biggest triathlon, the Ironman, thinks the motivation to take up extreme sports stems from achieving a goal, and being competitive. It’s also knowing that you are one of very few who have dared to dream and working hard to fulfill it.
Among those answering “Yes” the distribution of votes was as follows: Male- 76%, Female: 24%; No: Male: 52%, Female: 48%.
It is clear that men are more inclined to do it not only because they they are physically stronger than women, but also because they love the adrenaline rush that comes with the act of participating in an extreme sport more, says Alex Cusper, Meetville service analyst.
