Does Old Age Stop People from Having Sex?

Love knows no age. Overwhelming majority of people claim they won’t stop having sex even in older age. In a poll, conducted between 8/1/14 and 12/11/14, Meetville.com (dating app to find the right person) asked 84,919 people to answer the following question: “Are you still going to have sex when you’re 70?”

Only 27% of participants answered negatively. It’s remarkable that 23% of votes belong to males and 77% – to females.

People from all over the world took part in the poll: from the USA – 84%, from Canada – 2%, from Britain – 4%, Australia – 3% and other countries – 7%.

For some reasons, many of adults are worried about having sex as they grow older. It’s understandable since our bodies change and getting pleasure out lovemaking may become a bit of challenge. Krisha McCoy, writer and editor on health and medical topics, suggests keeping to a healthy lifestyle in order to preserve sexual health: “Pay attention to your overall health. Exercising regularly, eating a healthful diet, drinking plenty of fluids, avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, and managing the stress in your life can help to keep your sex life active and satisfying.”

So Krisha McCoy also reminds to be open towards your partner about your feelings: “Your relationship with your partner is an important part of your sexual health. Talk to your partner about his or her sexual desires and discuss any sexual changes you are experiencing. Be a good listener if your partner has sexual concerns.”
