Can Body Size Be a Dealbreaker?

“Some people consider body type to be more important than mutual attraction and love. Meetville.com”
By Alex Glover May 27, 2021

Some people consider body type to be more important than mutual attraction and love. Meetville.com (dating app to find the right person) revealed the fact during a poll, conducted between 9/16/14 and 1/6/15.

Participants were asked: “If one of your potential matches was overweight would that be a deal breaker?” 45% of people claim they are not ready to date an overweight person. It must be noted that 58% of positive answers belong to females.

78,510 people participated in the poll. From USA – 87%, Canada – 2%, Britain – 4%, Australia – 3% and other countries – 4%.

Weight is based on many factors: lifestyle, mental health or genetics. So it’s a wrong thing to base a decision on. And most importantly weight can change. The hot and sexy people today may let their healthy lifestyle go and turn into fatties. And vice versa: those who are overweight now can certainly change the way they look by improving their lifestyle.

According to Julianne Ross, arts-and-entertainment editor, “Being a certain size in no way robs someone of their right to be loved and respected by a partner, end of story.”

Alex Cusper, Meetville service analyst, reckons that all the people have their favorite body types and sizes, which is absolutely normal. But concentrating solely on weight-parameter means that you’re probably missing out on some other great qualities.
