How Harmless Is Flirting when You’re Married

For many people being married and flirting is quite acceptable. Meetville.com (dating app to find the right person) measured public opinion in a poll, conducted in the period between 10/9/14 and 1/22/15. People answered the following question: “Is it okay to flirt at work when you're married?”

Number of respondents 65,627. From the USA – 60%, from Canada – 3%, from Britain – 12%, Australia – 7% and other countries – 18%.

Married people should avoid flirting as it may have a big impact on their family life. Christina Pesoli, a famous author, states: “Your outside interest will weaken your marriage. You may justify what you're doing by telling yourself that it has a positive effect on your home life because it boosts your mood. But what you refer to as a mood boost is actually an ego trip.”

Kurt Smith, a blogger, thinks: “Flirting is fine if you're not in any kind of relationship, the same goes for the person you're flirting with, but if you're married, or in a serious relationship, flirting with someone else is wrong.”
