Does Porn Enrich or Kill a Marriage? 73% Believe It’s a Valuable Experience

Most couples believe pornography can be an enriching aspect of marital intimacy. This was indicated by a poll, carried out by Meetville.com (dating app to find the right person) between 7/16/14 and 9/2/14.

The poll posed the following question: “Is porn OK in a marriage?” 73% majority of respondents believe pornography does not have a negative impact on the marriage.

Participants numbered 58,139. From the USA - 50%, from Canada - 4%, from Britain - 12%, Australia - 7% and from other countries - 27%.

Samantha Rodman, clinical psychologist, states “Porn can be a relationship enhancer. If you use porn and your partner likes it, is okay with it, or uses it with you, that is great. But if you are using it as a substitute for sex with your partner, I believe that hurts the relationship as it cuts one’s partner off, draws sexual energy away from the marriage, and heightens distance between partners,” thinks Samantha.

Other statistics indicate that among those who were not against porn in a marriage, 78% were male votes and 22% - female.

According to Alex Cusper, Meetville service analyst, “Men are very visual and most men enjoy watching porn from the age of puberty onwards.” However, he believes that it is not only a male issue, but it affects both partners.
