Most people are familiar with the term "cougar", but many don't realize that, despite the stigma, dating a younger man has nothing bad, but can be fantastic for both parties for a number of reasons. If there is an attraction between two people of different ages, who should matter?
So if you’re a women who’s in love with a younger man, just follow these tips to be happy:
Remember that age is just a number. In some cases, your young guy has gone through some life experiences which may have accelerated his outlook on things and may have already given him some wisdom. So your younger boyfriend can be even wiser that you.
Know what you want. Are you looking for a short-term fling or something more substantial? It’s very important to know if a man is not thinking about pursuing anything serious. Be upfront about your intentions so you’re both on the same page, and so you don’t feel like you’re misleading him.
Leave the past behind. He doesn’t need to know all the details of your divorce or the problems you had in past relationships. Focus on the present and enjoying your time together now.
Beware of being “mommy”. Some younger men are looking to be with a mother type. It can be easy to get manipulated into that role. You've already raised your own kids. Don’t bring on another one.
Let him chase you. Even though he may be younger, he is still a man, so let him take the lead by asking for your phone number and the first date. Besides, you’re too busy to do the chasing with everything else going on in your life.
