I am currently in my 3rd year at SFU majoring in Sociology with a minor in dialogue/communication and doing a Sustainable Community Development certificate on the side. My overall focus and passion revolves around holistic community transformation/restoration. I am pretty conscious of the world around me; I live an overall pretty sustainable environmentally-friendly lifestyle and try to be as mindful as possible.I read a lot... I always have at least 5 books going at once.I speak German fluently and a mix-mash of a few other languages.; Austria.; we speak every day.I am quite into philosophy, especially existentialism.I started skiing when I was 3 and have been slowly getting back into it after a knee-operation a few years ago.I love to wander aimlessly around the city and have a really good sense of directionality/the city as a result.As much as I love certain aspects of life in the city, I want to live in a cabin in the woods. Unfortunately for me, at the moment, university is here.I can kick your butt at Catan.I don't own a television, microwave or "fancy phone". I want to/am planning on spending a few months up north in the near/relative future.Hiking and time outdoors is essential to my well-being.Other things I love:- the beach - farmer's markets- used book stores- riding my bicycle- patios and rooftops-; lichen- kayaking with seals swimming by- potlucks/bbqs/dinners with friends- craft beer- creme brulee-- live music, comedy and slam poetry- trying new recipes- continuous, life-long learning- trails and wandering aimlessly- community (!)- collective action- camping/backpacking- drawing and painting- live music / open mic nights- joyful, curious children- backpacking/camping- sunny days (can be rarities here)- family (even though they are far away) & my wonderful friends (BC-family)In others I value most:- a sense of humour and playfulness (!)- the ability to think critically and reflect- the ability to communicate openly and honestly- Kick back at the beach? Sampling beers at the Alibi Room? A burlesque show? A hike? Some live music? Stand-up comedy? Foraging? A trip to the farmer's market? Exploring a flea/free market? Wandering aimlessly around the city? A day-trip out of the city?Anything where we can get to know each other and have a little fun... just not your typical coffee-only date. It ends up feeling like a meeting/interview.

I used to breed Ball Pythons (Because really? Who hasn't tried that at least once?), so a guy who isn't afraid of snakes is also a plus. But you certainly don't need to own reptiles for me to message you. LoL. I like other animals, too. =)I also love good conversation. Grammar is always a plus, but not mandatory. As long as you're not completely dense and can actually carry on a good intellectual rapport. That's always hot.Just thought I would add that most of my pictures are older ones of me. Me:Active:I love the outdoors. Almost every profile I read here says this, but I mean it and do it. I am a guide for an outfitter in the summer, just for more excuses to get outside. I kayak, canoe and stand up paddleboard the rivers around here. Last year I went out about 30 times. Just swing by the grocery store, get dinner breakfast and smores and I am off. I mountain bike. Fish for fun, don't hunt. My family has a home on a lake and we are always out swimming, boating and just playing around. I travel. Last year was TX, CT and FL. There usually has to be an ocean involved, but honestly I am down for any adventure. Redwoods are at the top of my list.I tinker: I love to tinker with things. I cook. In fact, I am baking bread as I write this with some of the left over grain I had from brewing a double IPA beer. I tinker with cars. I have a few old trucks I just mess around with. No, I don't watch nascar or brag to ladies about how much horsepower I have. I just enjoy tinkering with them. I do drive a car 90% of the time for the gas mileage. However, that cat that you are kissing in the picture, just licked its who knows what. That is gross. :) You are sweet and caring. You live free and always find the beautiful things in life. You don't have to be a good cook, because I can cover that, but it is a bonus. You are a positive female role model. You have your act together. You are healthy and active.
