I am a busy working Mom who enjoys cooking, reading, and playing words with friends, yes, I know crazy but I like it. I love to go to movies, plays, concerts, and any place that I have not been before. I love watching college football on Saturdays curled up on the couch with a blanket when it is cold. I enjoy the outdoors as long as I do not have to sleep there. My current goal is to continue my education and complete a PhD. program in Education and eventually teach at the college level. On the other hand, chick flicks are not at the top of my list. I love a scary movie or an action film for sure. I am very logical and rational and need to make sense of things which means I ask a lot of questions. I have a great sense of humor and I am very creative. As for my taste in music, it is like my taste in everything else..... I like classical, southern rock, some country, some pop, some rap, as long as it sounds good, I like it.A few dislikes.....1) Men who are not emotionally ready for a relationship but say they are. Everyone is entitled to a past but deal with yours before professing your desire for a relationship.2) racism- I read this from another profile and decided to use it. We have a black president... Get over it! He's not an idiot... That would make him the opposite if an idiot. 3) Homophobes- They are not evil and have every right to be here, marry etc. 4) closed minded men- your opinion is not the only one. It's your opinion. I may have a different one. That doesn't mean I can't like you and it doesn't mean I will try to change your mind so don't try to change mine.5) too serious- I like men who can laugh at themselves and me when I say something stupid.I'm looking for a serious relationship, if you're not then don't waste my time. On a first, I would like a gentleman to pick me up and take me to dinner at a nice place. It does not have to be overly fancy or pretentious, although I am comfortable with fine dining. I enjoy good conversation. After dinner, I would like to visit an exhibit or museum. Some place that allows for more conversation. Then to top off the night, coffee or a night cap. Again more conversation.

-football---my family and house are there. :) While plans could change--I was originally planning to be here for two years and I am starting my fifth--it seems disingenuous to claim that I want to get married next week when my future residency is unsure. So...I would love to date. Even exclusively. But don't be angry if I won't agree to live here forever on our second evening out.I am currently teaching reading at the college level and loving it. I am also working on an Ed.D degree, so I work hard to enjoy my free time! I enjoy sharing new adventures with others--my last escapade was firewalking. I love snorkeling, roller coasters and art galleries, live theatre and local bands, cooking for friends and visiting with family, sharing a new book, debating new ideas and anything that challenges me to expand my horizons. I feel most relaxed near the water and can enjoy an evening of silliness and dancing as easily as a great movie or stimulating debate. I am hoping to find a responsible AND fun-loving individual. You don't need to buy me a gourmet dinner, but you should be able to foot your part of the bill. You should be able/willing to start the weekend without plans and enjoy whatever eventuates. I enjoy debate and discussion--I speak my mind and expect others to do the same. I would love to meet someone who has a CLUE about major authors, artists, and intellectual ideas. (That sure sounds harsh, but I hope you know what I mean!) I feel most at peace near the ocean and would love to find someone who shares my affinity for the beach.If I am busy, it is not personal. I teach and study and tutor and have friends.
