Why do so many people say they are "fun loving" in their profile? Seriously, doesn't everyone like to have fun? As an oxygen-breathing hominid, I'm far more unique than those people. Writing an online dating profile ranks among the great challenges in life. In a couple thousand characters (many already wasted) I'm supposed to convince you that I don't have any serious communicable diseases, children scattered randomly around the globe, nor do I survive on a diet of whiskey and cat food. And despite my best literary efforts, you'll probably just look at the pictures. I'm doomed! At the risk of you thinking that I can’t be serious, here’s an attempt: I live by the simple philosophy that you create the life you want, by following your passions and being focused. Travel and outdoor activity inspire me. After a few years caught up in the rat race, I figured out that material stuff contributes little to quality of life. If anything, it's counter productive. Having said this, I smile graciously when someone shows up with a bottle of cheap homemade wine, but I wouldn't be caught dead drinking it (a well-aged Temperanillo is another story). I enjoy harassing telemarketers. I’m the first person at a party to get naked and belly flop off the roof into the pool. Regarding employment, no doubt you want some assurance that I won't try to steal your savings. I have a career where I get to help save the environment, and a dream business as a freelance outdoor photographer and writer. It's the best way I've found to make money so far, until someone pays me to be a wine taster. Right now, I'd rather be on a kayak trip - I could ramble on much longer, but if you've gotten this far, then surely I've earned a note from you! Cheers! I'd pick you up on my skateboard and we'd go to McDonalds. You can have anything you want, as long as it's under $3.
