About Me

I'm interested in a dating relationship that will grow into a long term committment. It's nice to meet someone with similar interests, life style and philosophy. I prefer to meet gentlemen my age, somewhat older or younger. Someone who serves others no matter what his career, is something I admire as well as kindness, intelligence, ambition in serving others and success.Hobbies: I love going for walks/hiking in scenic areas and traveling around Northern Wisconsin and Michigan. I especially enjoy visiting a small Bavarian town in Lower Michigan. I have an eye for interior decorating and enjoy creating settings that are peaceful and welcoming. I collect Native American art, crafts and books. Being of mostly Swedish ancestry, I also have a Swedish collection. My second career is singing and playing piano. When inspired, I write music, poetry and am working on writing a couple books. I recorded two cds and hope to record a couple more. Now that I'm retired I have more time for cooking, baking, sewing, candle making, and growing herbs,flowers and house plants. If I visit the Milwaukee area, I like to attend some of the ethnic festivals in the summer. I unwind from a busy day by watching PBS mysteries and being outdoors in the beauty of nature that surrounds me. Love swimming in summer and indoor swimming and ice skating in winter.Recently retired, I volunteer in nursing homes providing music for parties, craft groups and travel parties. I play piano and sing at church periodically and will soon be playing the organ there. My pet rabbit lets me out once in awhile to visit friends and family. She's very affectionate and enjoys cuddling up in a blanket in cold weather. She makes friends easily. She'll follow you anywhere if you have a treat for her.Main goal in life is to serve others; my family, friends, co-workers and people I come in contact with daily. Throughout my career in Human Services I've had the opportunity to work with disabled adults and the elderly and continue to do so in a volunteer capacity.Goals: To serve the Lord with gladness and come before His presence with singing.To develop a long term relationship with a sincere, honest, and sophisticated Christian man who enjoys hanging out at home, travel, attending church and community events and, being spoiled. To sing and play piano in a small lounge,restaurant or coffee house.To travel to Europe; Visit an Indian Reservation and meet with children there; go on a short term mission trip to India or whatever other direction that may take.Creative thinker in every aspect of my life; can adapt to most situations and environments comfortably.Enjoy my solitude at times, but enjoy being with that one special person. I don't have to be entertained to enjoy someone's company; enjoy staying home as well as going out. Guess you'll have to get to know me and judge for yourself as to what makes me unique.Music: For listening:Classic rock from 60's ***'s; some country; classical; a little jazz; Favorite bands: Moody Blues, REM, Steely Dan, Bon Jovi. For playing/singing: Hymns, contemporary Christian, ballads, (Carole King, Judy Collins, James Taylor) soft rock, (Heart, Jewel, Whitney Houston, Eagles, Adelle), some country,(Shania Twain, Ann Murray, Lonestar) show tunes, oldies, classics and classical.Getting acquainted over coffee or lunch in a quiet setting and go for a walk in a scenic area.
