About Me

Time for a change! The last 27 winters I've lived in an old log cabin in the mountains. I love my Subaru, paddle a solo canoe, like to fish (or at least meditate by the stream or river), go on walks in the woods or down city streets, attend concerts or live theater, and write poetry. Love to read books and write letters (snailmail) by a bone and soul warming wood fire, and dancing is my passion. I retired in ***after working for the Federal Government for over 25 years. I really missed nursing so in August of 200I I took on a part-time job caring for the elderly. I'm looking for a friend and lover to share life with and for a new zip code to call home. But, in all honesty, after living independently for so long, I'm not sure I know how to be a partner (autonomy vs intimacy). I am girlie enough to have a standing appointment for a mani/pedi EVERY week and I change purses to match what I am wearing each day, but if you want to jump up on Saturday morning to run, i have been known to throw on my Nike hat, hair in a ponytail and be out of the house in just a few minutes... NOTE: if we are going out for the evening I will need a bit more time! I have a weakness for strappy, sexy heels and spend too much money on them...but I also have a weakness for camo ballcaps and I have 23 in my closet. I LOVE Texas Country music and you can bet I am gonna drag your butt to a concert. I love decorating magazines. I have been told I could take a bunch of crap from WalMart and make it look like a million bucks? Not sure what that means but I think it is a compliment. I love to buy gifts for my friends to surprise them. I am extremely competitive! (family game night is intense at my house). I love to run. I love football (my son plays) and I can give you scores and highlights if you are away from home on a Saturday because I actually follow and understand. My kid's friends drop by sometimes just to eat...and that makes me happy. When they leave they say I love you, just like they are my own kids. That makes me smile. I am not a very good cook but I always set the table properly. I always burn the bread and now it is a joke in my house. I need to be physically close to the person I love and I love to hold hands. I will say I love you every time you walk out the door and if you forget something and come right back in, I will say it again. I will kiss you when you change the lightbulb in the laundry room because I will be overcome with emotion that you did it without being asked. I will always cry at sad movies...ok, sometimes even commercials. (I might even cry when you change that lightbulb without being asked.) I have mastered texting and love to send messages to the people I love. I know nothing about computers other than how to check my *** love to throw parties. In the winter I keep the fire in the fireplace going sometimes day and night because I love the way it makes the room feel. I love the beach. I think I love my kids TOO much. My parents have been married for over 50 years and I am secretly jealous that I won't be in love with someone for that long because I believe it is the greatest gift He gives. In my life I have experienced blessings that I surely do not deserve. I BELIEVE IN HAPPY ENDINGS! I am 100% certain that there is someone who needs and wants to be loved the way only I can love him.
