About Me

I love pretty much anything if it involves being outdoors - walking barefoot on the beach, watching the sunset or the northern lights or shooting stars or the fireflies in the lawn, gardening, swimming, boating, camping, fishing - I'll even bait my own hook & take them off too but I do draw the line at cleaning them! I also like X-country skiing, skating, walking, relaxing on the deck, campfires, get-togethers with family & friends, and impromptu drives to wherever. I play a mean game of cribbage, improving at darts since joining a fun league, pool skills are a little rusty but would like to change that! Care to help me sharpen them? I enjoy creative and challenging things: crafts, sewing, anything involving power tools & hammers and challenging things - a good crossword, completing a difficult puzzle, figuring out how to fix something or a way to build or make something useful, figuring out how things work (without reading the manual first).Music is a big part of who I am. A day without music in it just isn't complete so I'm usually listening whenever I can. Preferences include (but are certainly not limited to***'s, 70's, 80's, or most anything by the artists from those decades, and "newer" country. Have even been known to listen to classical occasionally. It's not so much about what label is applied to the music, but rather, does it touch me in some way?I have a great job in a field that I enjoy (most days - lol!!) That said, it does not rule my life or consume my every waking moment. I can be shy and quiet or out-going and talkative, always fun-loving, happy, independent, and a down-to-earth person who doesn't require a lot of to be satisfied. Spending time at the mall or shopping is NOT what I consider a pastime. Shopping is a necessary evil - unless it's at Home Depot. The things I've achieved in my life haven't always come easily, yet I believe that the hard work, difficult times, and perseverance have made me a stronger and (hopefully) wiser person and I'm happy with where and who I am. Although I don’t need someone in my life to be happy, I do miss having that special man to share all of life’s experiences with – both the everyday events and the special moments. The person I’m looking for is someone who treats others with honesty, respect, and integrity, and is accepting of others and their beliefs. Or simply put, a man who treats others as he would like to be treated. A sense of humour is a must – if we can laugh at ourselves and find some humour in whatever life throws our way, we can handle any challenges.I'm the parent of two awesome daughters that have matured into phenomenal adults. Life doesn't get much better than that They have moved on to new stages in their lives and now it's time for me to do the same.
