About Me

I'm very optimistic and prefer not to spend time around pessimistic people. I'm sincere and honest and mean what I say. When I pay someone a complement they can take it to the bank. I'm serious about things that matter but also know how to relax and have fun. I have a sense of humor, am generally looking for things to laugh about and am mature enough to laugh at myself. I take pride in doing things well, in both my business and personal life, but don't live to work. I'm comfortable in any crowd but do appreciate sharp wit and intelligent conversation. I try to stay physically active and am in regular attendance at the gym. I also ride motorcycles, play sports, ski, hike and bike (among many other activities). I love to travel and explore. I have an adventurous side that has taken me white water rafting, repelling and bear watching. I am, however, just as comfortable visiting museums, historic sites or simply spending time at home with you.Things I’d like to do once money concerns are no longer of concern: travel more, learn to play guitar again (and much better), expand my limited culinary line up (my grill and I are best buddies), spend more time with family, travel more, learn something beyond my basic sailing knowledge, plant a vegetable garden every year, become a better investor because I want to not because I have to, travel more, renovate a Victorian home, work on a Hollywood movie set because it would be interesting to see how the process works, work on Capitol Hill because it would be interesting to see how the process works (if I do either the Hollywood or the Capitol Hill gig do I have to do the other?), spend time on worthy causes… did I mention more travel?Honesty and trust are very important to me. I don’t see how it’s possible to have a solid relationship without them (in addition to maturity, an open mind and a caring personality). A sense of humor is a huge plus especially if it includes the ability to laugh at one’s self. Life is too short not to have fun with it. A good listener and educated conversationalist are always nice qualities as well. Negative people draw too much of my energy. You must have an optimistic outlook! In Greek mythology, she's Odysseus' wife, so she should know LOTS about him. And, since most "traits" attributed to Aquarians are derived from Odysseus (I had to look that one up!), AND since most of these traits sorta match with what I'm about, I thought the "story" should go something like this: James (that's me), king of Ithaca and leader of the Trojan War, wandered around for ten years before reaching home. [I'm not really THAT lost, but mythical Odysseus actually did that!]While I was a-wanderin', Penelope longed for my fairly nice, finely chiseled features and my slender figure. [Well, Penelope actually longed for Odysseus... but I'll take credit for the rest if she wants it that way!] She also longed for my handsome but somewhat soft features. [Okay... ]Being a gal of few words, Penelope did have a few to say about me [and, of course, Odysseus!].[Now ladies, if you wanna know more about me, pay attention, here... ]She thought that I have a unique [absolutely!], quirky [mmm, hmmm... ], creative [ok... ], stubborn [well, not always!... and not impetuously so], challenging [that's what some tell me!], supportive [genuinely so], inquisitive [curious and analytically so], entertaining [sometimes... when in good company!], progressive [subtly so], stimulating [hmmm... I'll let you ponder this one!], nocturnal [well, I do get up awfully earlier than most!... and, can enjoy the night on those "special occasions" when sharing good company--if ya know what I mean!], and independent [but not selfishly so] character.
