I am a ***odd years. I am a workaholic, but would love to meet a nice gentleman with whom to spend the little bit of free time that I do have. I am in my 40s (the upper end of my 40s...sigh....). and am ideally looking to make friends....but if something sparks from that, all the better. Not necessarily looking for "happily ever after" (but not opposed to that, if it happens). I am NOT looking for casual sex or one-night encounters. I work in hospital administration, and also am a writer (I sometimes freelance) and an artist (painter). I enjoy music (classic era rock and roll, classical, jazz, and especially folk), love to cook, though living alone, I don't get a chance to do so very often (pan- Most of what I read tends to be non-fiction, political/editorial types of things (e.g. Tom Friedman, etc.). Not a heavy drinker, though when I let my hair down, I do enjoy a good scotch, a martini or a nice glass of wine. No smoking or illicit drug use. I don't litter and I recycle. I drink WAY too much coffee.Though finding a man to date would be wonderful, I'd also love to make a friend or two. Most of the friends I have no longer live locally at present, so would really enjoy making a few friends locally, if possible.Again I'm absolutely NOT interested in casual sex, one-time encounters, etc. Please excuse my restating this. I just don't want waste anyone else's time -- as well as my own -- so would rather as emphatic about this as I can be. Dinner and/or coffee and dessert, at some smallish venue off the beaten path with candlelight, music (though at low enough a volume to be able to talk and get to know one-another) and a reasonably mellow atmosphere, where they wouldn't mind if we lingered for a couple of extra hours, if we hit it off and were enjoying one-another's company.
