Smiling, I begin to think about the first time we meet, and of how the way you look that night will cause the butterflies to swarm in my stomach and the blood to rush to my face. My mind then skips forward in time to when we have been together for a short while and all we want to do is be in each other’s presence. How it does not matter to us what we are doing, only that we are doing it together.; you and I are the only two people in the world. Every moment for me is about you. My focus is only on learning every aspect and nuance of your being. Like the way you laugh, the way you move your hands, the color and depth of your eyes as you look into mine, and the intelligence that ensures a lifetime of rich conversation. And yes, I also learn about how you are when you are angry, when you are sad, and hopefully very rarely, the sound you make when you cry. I will also learn about all the little things that you do that will irritate me to no end; and I love them all, good and bad, and you love everything about me as well. Our acceptance of each other is unconditional, and in that acceptance, we both find the freedom to become the best you and the best me.
