I am down to earth and a low maintennance kind of girl. What you see is what you get with me. I have 2 daughters, both are away at college now. I am excited about beginning this next chapter in my life. I would like to find someone who enjoys being active and doing some of the same things as me. I try to eat healthy, but not to an extreme. I also walk for exercise, enjoy hiking and love bike riding. I love being outside, am willing to try new things. There are many things I enjoy doing but do not want to do by myself. Things like tubing, kayaking, camping, etc. I love sitting on my deck reading a good book, or having a drink with friends. I like most kinds of music. I really like country and 80's, along with some of today's pop hits, but can listen to just about anything. I don't ask for much. I just want someone who shares some of my interests, is honest, financially stable, easy going and who truly wants to spend time with me. If he likes to bike ride, that is definitely a plus! I don't need to be attached to someone by the hip & I definitely need my space as anyone does. I am not a fancy person, but always do try to look my best. I am not a big phone talker or texter, at least at first anyway. Once I get to know someone and am comfortable, that will change. For a first date, I would prefer doing something low key. Meeting for a drink, coffee, walk or bike ride. I prefer not to go out to dinner for the first time we meet. The way I look at it, if we hit it off, there will be plenty more times to spend together! I would rather communicate a little at first, and if we hit it off, then just meet. I do not like dragging it out. Once we meet then we will know if we want to continue.

    All About Me.....mmmmmmmmm.......well, first and foremost, I am a Mom and I believe a pretty good one, too. My kids mean everything to me as does my family with whom I am very close. I don't know that I am truly unique, but I feel I make those around me feel comfortable because of my sense of humor and the fact that I am a good listener. I have a lot of friends but am really close to a handful who have been there for me through thick and thin.I've been an educator for 28 years and I love my job. Working with special education students is challenging yet rewarding at the same time. My goal is retire in 3 years and work with student teachers at the university level. I LOVE to travel and want to travel cross country here in the U.S. as well as Europe. I love the islands too! Sipping a pina colada on the beach is heaven to me! Music is a huge part of me and many times has been my therapy through the rough times! I love to laugh and make others laugh too! What a great feeling! Although I can be a planner (guess that's the Mom and teacher in me!) I can be very spontaneous, too. When in a relationship, I do try to make it a priority as I would want the same in return. Call me old-fashioned, but I love a man who opens doors, walks on the street side of the sidewalk, and calls or texts throughout the day just because....... When I am in a relationship, I am very affectionate (I love holding hands and long tender kisses!), and love to share those little intimate moments or even funny inside jokes that only my partner and I share. First Date? I think it depends on the time of year/weather. If it's cold, a nice dinner at a restaurant with great ambience is always a good start. Then to a nightclub or lounge to listen to a live band or something to that effect. Warm weather? BASEBALL!! I love seeing my favorite sport live with good company and a cold beer! (LOL!). ( I love football, too though!)I know that first dates can be nerve-wracking so doing something fun helps to break the ice a bit.
