About Me

Anyone plain can be lovely, anyone loved can be lost"I enjoy just about everything - hiking, biking, tennis, soccer, volleyball, camping, fishing... (anything outdoors!) If it's new and different I will try it - I believe in challenging myself to see what can be accomplished, and I love to test the boundaries.I believe in the simple things: honesty, integrity, laughter, love. I tend to be a very passionate person, strong minded, strong willed and determined to continue to better myself. Languages fascinate me (I am currently teaching myself Russian and Chinese) and music is forever in my heart. Generally speaking I have a hard time sitting still - I love to be active - but I have just as much fun watching a football or baseball game (Jets and Phillies fan here), taking in a movie or reading a book. I tend to be a bit of a foodie - I will try anything once and I truly enjoy cooking. I love to laugh (and I do it a lot), so someone to match my sarcastic wit would be fun :)what you see is what you get :) ...I'm generally shy until I get to know people, and I tend to be very passionate about the people I love. If I could live outdoors I probably would. :) Give me some music with deep meaning, a good book and a gentle rain and I am the happiest person on Earth. I have worked hard all of my life and I'm happy to say that with dedication and resolve I'm proud of what I have accomplished. I like to think that I am a good boss: I aim to provide leadership but also give my employees room to make decisions that help them to feel part of something greater than just a job. They make a great team. Generally speaking I have a hard time sitting still (I love to be doing something with my hands) and I pretty much play as hard as I work - but I love to snuggle. My two children have helped me to realize a deeper kind of love - and I reciprocate that with great expectations from them because they have great potential. I believe that the body is an amazing thing - it doesn't seem to matter what torture I put it through-- cycling, hiking, running or just living, it remains strong for me -- I try to respect that...     I truly do make up for my small stature in my spunk and attitude. I am enthusiastic, positive and would rather be moving than sitting in front of the TV. I enjoy living life to the fullest and truly believe that God's gift to us is wasted if we do not live to our fullest potential- this is both physically, spiritually and intellectually. The healthiest relationships I've seen are those that have two individuals willing to LAUGH. I'm not afraid to be in new situations or try things I've never done before. New adventures are great! I am independent and pretty strong willed. I don't need to be constantly entertained, and believe that two individuals should be their own person before being a healthy part of a couple. I hate the line in "Jerry McGuire" that says "you complete me." It makes it sound like a person can't be WHOLE on their own. Two "half" people don't make a whole. I am not looking to find "myself" in someone else, nor can I "fix" or "fill" a hole in someone's life. That said, I do desire to share adventures and dreams with another. I am generous to a fault and I'm hoping to find someone who will share just as much in return. I am looking for an EQUAL. I'm looking for a partner to walk beside me in life, not rush ahead or hold me back. I love working with kids and being crazy with them in many settings (Special Olympics every year and I even travel the world with kids as a teacher). I hope to find someone that doesn't mind attending the high school games or productions once in awhile. I am passionate about building relationships with the kids both in the classroom and by investing in their lives. It is the core of who I am. I am proud of what I do and my influence in their lives- and believe it or not, they like me too! I BELIEVE IN MAKING A DIFFERENCE. They keep me young! I will say that I am YOUNG at heart and attitude. Most people are shocked that I am ***not because of my maturity, but appearance and approach to life. The kids often guess that I'm in my late 20's or early 30's). I really can't see myself dating anyone the same age as my parents (they were young when they had me) AND I just adopted a baby- so I have a good 18 years of "active" parenting in front of me, so if you are in your 50's, please contact someone else, I'm not done with family!
