Really haven't been on a first date in so long, not even sure what it consists of anymore, but if I get to pick, I would love to have actually gotten to know the person a little on the phone. Just hearing a voice and being comfortable with it is a must. Then we could meet somewhere for drinks, lunch or dinner. Sometimes a group setting is better in the beginning for me(more comfortable).
