About Me

I've been divorced over a year now and have two kids (teens) who are the main focus of my life. But, to be honest, I'm missing the companionship of a man. I don’t want to get serious right now but my ultimate goal would be a committed relationship. However, right now I want to go out and have fun, take things slow and see where it goes from there. I enjoy virtually all activities from dancing, walks, travel and camping to just hanging out, laughing and watching a good movie. I am open to just about anything. I am not a needy person, I am self-sufficient and driven. I want the same in a man – someone who is financially stable. Sorry to be blunt, but I'm not interested in being the sugar momma nor am I looking for a sugar daddy (although it is nice to be spoiled once in a while and that goes both ways) Please don't contact me unless you're financially stable and can afford to go do fun things with me....I'm not interested in going backwards, only forward to enjoy what life has to offer...... I have been at my work for 19 years and plan to retire there within about 10 years. I love my job and take it very seriously. Vacations and leisure time are important to me, I love to travel and go on cruises with my girlfriends (the Caribbean is my favorite place). I served in the Army right out of high school and was stationed in Germany and I've been overseas to many different countries and would like to revisit those places someday. I was raised by a single mother who struggled most of her life to raise my brother and I. She inspired me to be strong and independent. I have been told I'm fun to be around. However, I feel kind of shy in new situations sometimes. Being single is not something I am used to and I am definitely out of practice when it comes to dating. It's been 20 years since I was single. I do miss the passion and the newness of a relationship. I like that feeling you get in your stomach (butterflies) when that connection is mutual. If I sound interesting, I'd like to start via *** how it goes from there. I am very responsible, definitely have my life together and I can afford to treat myself and my children well. I'm looking for someone between ***, fun to be around, responsible, has a sense of humor and just loves enjoying life. My mother passed away suddenly of a heart attack and I miss her a lot. I've learned that life is too short and you just never know when your time is up, so I'm getting out of my comfort zone and putting myself out there with the hope that I can rewrite my happy ending.     ******No Inmates******Yes...this is a lot to read...but it gives you a good idea of who I am. :) I'm just looking for friends first. I do still have all my warm and fuzzy dreams of finding my soul mate...someone to share a perfectly normal, boring and wonderful night curled up on the couch watching a movie...or sitting around with a bottle of Jack as we do spot-on impressions of our co-workers that we don't like...lol...or eating a big bowl of hamburger gravy at 12:00 on a rainy Sunday and then spooning up for a nice long nap. :). Same with animals, same with your mama. It's all so telling and bad/cruel behavior towards all people, but especially those that love you the most, is a deal-breaker in friendship and in love with me. I have zero tolerance for angry, hot tempered, overly jealous, violent people. If you have ever hit a woman then go away. Seriously...I live a pretty drama free life and I will not have that kind of ugliness attached to me in any way. I'm a mellow peaceable type B)...lol.     Update: As of ***'13 I'm off to teach internationally. It's going to be a grand adventure! So, here I am. :) Now, it is hard to meet men here because of the distance thing. I'm pretty sure if we both have cars we can work on the distance thing. I am looking for someone who not only believes in God, but lives it out. I know this looks different for everyone, and I'd be interested in hearing what God means to you.
