Below is the long version so here is the short version...Single, never married, no kids, 1 golden retriever, 1 cat, both indoors, quick witted, sarcastic, occasional dark sense of humor (thanks to working in public safety so long!), not looking for 1 night stand, kind of a loner but enjoy spending time with someone special should I find him.Now for the best selling novel version... I am an Emergency Dispatcher ***folks!). It is not only my job, but my career. I work nights and don't plan on changing that at my current place of employment, which I've been at for over 12 years. Don't let that scare you away though. My schedule can still work with someone who works the "normal" M-F job. I work 12hrs at a time and typically only ***days a week including every other weekend.I am pretty flexible and enjoy almost anything. I love pizza! A lot. I also eat Spaghettios right out of the can. I like to go camping even though I haven't been in a while. I would love to learn to shoot. I really want a pink gun but refuse to get one til I know what I'm doing. It's probably not smart to mention that I'm unarmed but that's ok. I have stealth-like ninja skills and an attack dog. I started to get into wine tasting a few years ago but it's been a while since I've had any. I may be interested in starting that again. I don't drink often. In fact I rarely drink anymore. I go out to the bar with friends about ***times a year. I do like live music and would like to go out and listen more. I'm kind of a loner so somebody needs to get me out in the world. Could that be you? My dream has always been to fly a helicopter but realistically, that isn't going to happen. I'll settle for an airplane. Gliding would be cool. I could forget the helicopter, airplane, and glider and just strap myself on a string and fly on a zipline. I have been skydiving once, years ago, and would love to go again. I love to travel even though I rarely do it. I would love to go backpacking somewhere.!) I would also love to learn and go geocaching. I also want to attempt snow skiing. I'm considering taking up kayaking since almost every profile I look at lists that. What's the hype? I have a good (sometimes twisted) sense of humor and typically think quick. I like to smile at strangers. It's a plus if they smile back. That's one moment in their day that they were happy, no matter how their day went.I apparently have been re-living the 80s in the last year or so. I have been to several "hair band" concerts and had a blast. Bon Jovi (my all time fav) and a few others. My favorite music is classic rock, metal, rock, and country but I listen to most anything. My XM is most often tuned into Octane.I have a spoiled rotten 2yoa Golden Retriever and a cat that was raised by my 1st dog. My senior Golden Retriever recently went to heaven and is missed terribly. My furbabies are my children. I enjoy taking my dog for walks and she LOVES water, especially straight out of the hose. My furbabies are indoors so if allergies or dog hair is a problem, I'm afraid we aren't for you. We are a packaged deal.I've never been married and have no 2 legged children. It is OK if you do. I do like children. As far as having children in the future...eh... I could go either way. It's a decision that can't be made fully until I am at that point with someone. I am fine with no children but also would not deny someone if they wanted them. I'd be ecstatic with a gaggle of goldens. It's a plus if you have spoiled dog(s) as well.I dont really have a certain type of man that i seek out. Everyone is unique. I tend to be more attracted to the "average" body type though but others are ok as well. Even though I am only 5'0, the height of a man is no issue to me. You can be 5'0 or 6'5 and it makes no difference to me. I'm good with it as long as you are good with me. I also prefer someone in the age range of 5 years, whether older or younger. That's not set in stone, just a preference. I am honest and I expect the same. I feel that communication is one of the most important things in a relationship. It would be nice to meet someone in my area of work but is certainly not a requirement. Public Safety is a family no one can understand unless you are a part of it. I understand the hours, the dangers, the bonds. My bad day at work is different than your bad day at work so don't be offended if I don't want to talk about it. One of my biggest pet peeves about online sites such as this is reading profiles where the grammar and spelling wouldn't get a gold star in 1st grade. Come on everyone! You are advertising yourself! Spellcheck! I have a soft heart and a strong mind. Sometimes they fight. I am non-confrontational. Arguing solves nothing (but I'll admit, making up is fun!). I enjoy being a loner but when I am with someone I care about, I enjoy their company more than anything. I am a hands on person. I love being affectionate. I love to be respected. The simple things in life make me happy. I love phone calls just because someone wants to hear my voice or a text to simply say good morning. If I had unlimited money, I would never wear a pair of socks twice. I am low maintenance and am most comfortable in jeans/shorts, tennis shoes/flippers (flip flops), and a tee but sometimes it's nice to dress up. I am also drama free. I tend to stay out of other people's business and, being a loner, I make no drama for myself.I'm not looking to "hook up", a "one night stand", or anything similar. First of all, I am a musician and researcher in computer music. I'm in my dream job, working as a lecturer. I love all kinds of music, but I do not like talking about it. See, the problem is, I do weird music that most people do not like. In fact, most people don't even think it's music. So, they think they're meeting a musician, then hear what I do and get all disappointed. Then, on top of it all, it's my job to listen and talk about music. So I tend to avoid it socially. I do like going to concerts and shows - of all kinds of music. I really am open-minded.I like to read, paint and take photos. I love languages, but I'm only average at learning them. I have this idea that I could be the female equivalent of James Bond, charming people in their native tongue. I'm lucky I don't start international incidents. I love dancing, especially ballroom and salsa. But, I truly only go mad-dancing at home where no one's looking. Or on my Wii Zumba.I like going out and being with friends, but I often need alone time at home.I have a cat, but I'm not a crazy cat lady. Well, unless I do it on purpose to be funny.I like fixing things but have to work to *** I don't have ***, I'm hopeless. Changed the oil in my old car. But, I also short-circuited the entire kitchen of my grandmother's house by attempting to fix her toaster. The worst part was, she had Alzheimers, so about twice a day I had to explain to her what an idiot I am until I could get the electrician in.I don't own a television. Not because I'm a snob but because I'm an addict. I am looking for the real thing, which means taking a little longer. So, for a first date, I prefer a coffee and a chat. If we click, then maybe a meal. I prefer to do loads of talking to suss out compatibility and attraction. After that, well... I am up for adventures!
