My independent kids are grown, and my job gives me some time to travel, especially during the summer. My 12-year-old yellow labrador loves everyone, and sleeps all day, except when taking me for long walks, rain or shine. I do yoga when I must, but I'd rather dance: swing, salsa, blues. I regularly head out to movies, live music, theatre performances. Jazz Fest, Folk Fest: I'm there.I listen to CBC Radio. I can parallel park my average-sized vehicle in seemingly small-car spots. I let my cable tv go. Added Netflix. Never looked back. I had a heap of leafy green kale, collards, red chard, and some arugula. I'm not a fancy cook; at home I go for super-simple healthy stuff. Salads, salmon, pasta, chicken, fruit. Sushi is my idea of fast food. When I eat out, I usually choose Indian, Thai, Mexican... a little fiesta compared to what's in my fridge.I'm actively putting together plans to ease into part-time work. I'm financially secure, and I'm looking for a man who is at a similar place in his life. I am a dual citizen and can live and work both sides of the border if I chose. I'd like to meet someone who has a positive attitude, and an active lifestyle. Someone who values volunteerism, and cares about the state of the world. If social drinking is a big part of your life, we won't be a good match. Not looking to be taken care of but would welcome being cared for and eventually loved. Yes, I said the "L" word..if that's scary for you...please stop reading now. Wanting to meet someone to do things with, I love my life and am tired of living it alone. My girlfriends are all in relationships and I'm always the proverbial "fifth wheel"...so I opt out of functions and work *** I might add. It's time to get balance back in my life...work to live, not live to work as they say.I'm independent yet don't want to go it alone. It would be nice to share my life with someone. You should like (or even better love) dogs as I have two and we are a package deal (no different than you guys with kids still at home but I can send my "kids" off to boarding camp when I want to go away on a trip, I hope you have that flexibility too). You're a little bit old school, and know how to treat a woman, you're a romantic at heart. You enjoy travel to warm tropical places when it's cold in BC, exploring our beautiful province in the spring and summer months, fishing, going for long walks/hikes (with the dogs), dining in or out, reading, playing board/card games, music (extra points if you favor R&B of the 60's, 70's, 80's), the occasional movie, preferably at home, curled up on the couch with a beverage and appies readily available. You relish the thought of sleeping until 9:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning...lol. I am complicated in an uncomplicated way and I live a simple life. I believe in karma and paying it forward. Yes, I have my faults, but if you can't deal with me when I'm at my worst, you'll certainly not be able to handle me at my best. I give as good as I get. I am fortunate to have been blessed with both brains and beauty (so I've been told). I can be wild and crazy, calm and demure, sophisticated and classy, down and dirty, a little girl, a mature woman. I can be athletic or lazy, conservative or liberal, silly or serious.
