Hang-out at an amusement park or cultural/social/music event. I believe you can sense a spark/attraction/connection right off the bat once meeting in person.

Some of my closest friends are in my life because I took the chance and said "hi" to a stranger. So, I am putting myself out there to try to meet some new friends without hanging out in the bar scene! Looking for someone to go to a game with or watch one at a friendly pub. A dinner companion with great conversation and a good sence of humor would be a nice evening also. I listen to all types of music, and equally enjoy attending the Theatre or the Zoo. I am comfortable in a dress and high heels or jeans and a t-shirt. I do not like the cold, winter months. I much perfer the heat and beaches of the Dominican Republic, or even a beautiful warm day hiking in Banff or fishing along the Bow River. I am just a few months away from being an empty nester, but have a home with 2 Golden Retrievers and 3 cats. Aside from a part time job in healthcare, and having my own business, I am involved in volunteer work, and try to give my time to help others when I can. Although I am very strong and independant, I also enjoy walking hand in hand with a warm and caring man to share with him the softness of being a woman. I myself, will no doubt, be full of nervous anticipation of meeting for a first date. Likely meet at a resturant or pub, or a stroll through the zoo. Lots of talking, smiling and laughter as we get to know each other and hopefully grow more at ease. I guess where we met for this wonderful date, would depend on what happens next. ie afternoon at the zoo may lead to dinner. If we don't hit it off so well, we go our separate ways and wish each other all the best and goodness that life has to offer. If we do hit it off great, then we make plans to see each other again and see where life takes us.

I love meeting people - every one has a story. I haven't traveled much lately because my children were young, but am anxious to now they are older. My next trip will be to India in the fall. I like music and love to dance. My passion has always been figure skating and am taking it up again as an adult this winter. Other activities include working out at the gym - just tried crossfit and loved it. My job is stressful and takes up a lot of my time, but I enjoy it. It's not my entire life though and I'm looking for someone to enjoy different activities with. Something that is of interest to both of us, and allows us to talk as well. No movies (although I love going to movies) because you can't talk, and dinner on a first date can be awkward sometimes.
