(Updated ***I've been on meetville before. I was on for approximately 3 months total. I met some very nice people while I was on here. Sadly long distances, job schedules and such can make life difficult. Also life gets busy, friends get sick and loved ones need us. Life is always busy but it does go on and so I've decided to try this again.I'm separated and eager to move on with my life after a long term marriage of 24 years (his decision....not mine). I'm beginning my journey to move on with my life with a positive and hopeful outlook. I'm not looking for a casual hookup but for someone to do things with and get to know. Someone to go places with, share laughs and enjoy one another's company. Because ultimately friendship is very important in a relationship. Someone to spend some quality time with and if there's a spark, then we'd see where it leads us to. And if no spark, then maybe we will have gained a friend. I realize that being separated at this point is a deterrent for many. I understand that. However, I also know that life is far too short. It gets lonely and we're not getting any younger. I ask myself if I want to take that chance and possibly miss out on meeting that special someone simply because all of the i's haven't been dotted and all of the t's haven't been crossed just yet. There is no drama in the separation or future divorce. It simply is what it is.If you're still reading.......then I guess I haven't scared you away yet. :-)Honesty, integrity, trust and respect mean a lot to me. Without these 4 things in a relationship, you have nothing. I'm old-fashioned. Does that sound boring? Maybe. :-) But there are worse things in life. :-)I'm a very busy and active person with many interests. Definitely not a couch potato (although a nice movie and cuddling are enjoyable too). It doesn't matter if it is working at home, exercising, helping someone out, going some place and doing something fun. I'm looking for someone who is willing to do things with me. And yet .......it's also healthy to have our own interests in life. I'm a country girl. Plain and simple. I'm not into designer this and that. And yet.........I do take good care of myself, like to look nice and I do like to dress up. I work hard and like to play hard. I'm not into the bar scene at all but sometimes it's nice to go listen to a band play. It's the little things in life that make me happy and that I appreciate. You do not need to spend a lot of money in life in order to have a good time. We live in a beautiful region which we should explore and appreciate.I grew up with horses, dogs, cats & one guinea pig. I love animals. However, they do require a lot of love, attention, time and work. Someday I hope to have another dog in my life. I do love horses but our area has grown so rapidly that there's really no safe place to ride any longer. As for music. I LOVE all kinds of music including old and new (with the exception of rap, metal and opera). I'd say I have a diverse appreciation for all types (even some dub step). I enjoy plays, ballet & different performances. I grew up with an old player piano and even know songs from the ***'s.I'm 5'8". Not a short petite woman and by no means an extremely tall woman. But taller than quite a few other women. This is my one and only hang up in life. I don't know why, but it is. When it comes to friends, I love everyone and do not care how tall they are. But eventually when I do find someone to spend my future with, I'd like them to be taller than my 5'8". I love children and have two older boys of my own (ages ***senior in HS & ***is in college). If you have children, that's fine with me since children have a way of making life fun and help to keep us young...............(for the most part - although maybe that's where some of my gray hair came from lol). Sometimes parenting can be tiring but it's well worth the effort.I love to laugh and love to smile (a smile can always make someone's day a little brighter....at least I think it can). And I'm definitely drawn to happy, nice and positive people. Maybe because I was in a relationship for such a long time, I'm just not a cynical or jaded person. But I have seen it sometimes in others or have heard stories about it and it's definitely a turn off and not what I want in my life.Yes, I'm romantic. I believe most women are. Romance to me doesn't mean expensive gifts and such. Romance to me is more about being thoughtful of one another. Doing little things to make the other person happy.I'm not perfect but then again no one is. I do not believe in perfection (however, it sure would be nice..........although that would possibly become tiring.........we can't laugh at ourselves if we're always perfect). My photos are from last year and also this past winter ***. I haven't changed (I will get some new ones taken soon). They show me as I am. I have a few pounds to lose and it's not from lack of trying. It sure would be nice to find someone to do things with, exercise, and stay active with. I am who I am and I'm proud of who I am. I will not pretend to be someone who I am not.I wish you all the best in your journey and search for the friend and woman of your dreams. We all deserve to find that bit of happiness in life. Although it's not always an easy journey. Is it? :-) It all depends on the person you are having a date with. It depends on what you both like. Possibly some place quiet and casual. Coffee? Hot chocolate?

Woman. 47 years old. Zodiac sign: Aries.
Looking for: man. In age: 44-54
My hobbies include travel, photography, music, writing and reading. I have worked in local government for 23 years and am looking forward to semi-retirement in ***. Although I live in the northeast, I don't like the winters here and hope to move to a warmer climate. I enjoy traveling - anywhere with a beach works for me! As for music, my taste varies. As long as it isn't loud heavy metal or rap, I probably like it. My favorite band is Counting Crows - if you've seen them live, you understand. My idea of a good first date is a "beverage date". Whether it be coffee or****ails, I like to be able to get to know someone in a rather quiet setting. I don't mind having to shout over a live band to be heard, but it's not a good idea for a first date. Dinner dates are great, but I've been in a situation where I decided I didn't like a guy before dinner was even ordered - it makes for a very long evening when you have to be polite to someone when you just want to leave. First date No-no's: Do NOT talk about your ex or politics. In fact, if you need to be told this, don't ask me out. Thanks for reading this - hope you're having a GREAT day!

Hi, thank you for stopping by. I am friendly and funny, and love to laugh.. but who doesn't? lolI treat people the way I like to be treated. I am not into games. I don't smoke, and prefer that you don't either. I love to read. I like all kinds of music except for rap. I also love board games, though don't play them as much as I would like to.I love being with friends and family, but also enjoy time alone with the one I am with. Always up for good bar-b-q now that the warmer weather is here .. well almost here ...I would love to meet someone kind, caring, unselfish and down to earth. You must also have strong family values. Single parent, have full custody, but my child is older now, and doesn't need Mom all the time anymore .. I would like to meet a good guy who is honest and sincere, who likes to laugh and joke around.Thank you for reading my profile, and good luck in your journeys to finding your other half. I feel that on a first date meeting for a bite to eat or a glass of wine would be great.Would love to sit and talk for a while and hopefully there will be some chemistry while just getting to know each other.
